American Idol Jordin Sparks visited Busch Gardens Tampa with her family and experienced the park's new Animal Connections program. Animal Connections lets guests discover for themselves what it takes for someone like Jack Hanna or Julie Scardina to do a television interview while holding a cute but squirmy animal.
Sparks, who has plenty of experience in front of the camera, was happy to let her younger cousins share the spotlight with a curious red-ruffed lemur and read their lines off a teleprompter, after some coaching from Busch Gardens' Animal Ambassador experts.
Following the Animal Connections experience, the family headed out into the park to ride roller coasters and hand-feed giraffes on the 65-acre Serengeti Plain.
Sparks, who was Idols youngest winner at 17 years old, followed her victory with the release of a debut album in 2007, which has gone platinum, and the hit single "No Air" with Chris Brown. She won an American Music Award in 2008 and received her first Grammy nomination in 2009.
