It seams to me that Many of the musical motifs and themes of the album "Gate of Dreams" are present here without Jazz-funk solo of that other album. It remains a symphonic poem with the main themes (all very briefs and repeated, not elaborated melodies with harmony functional to it) presenting themselves with pure and masterful harmonic openings and closings. Harmony and orquestral colour prevails always on melody.

What's the deal? 🤔
@Cybi02 жыл бұрын
@@barbaracatania7563 : Igor believes that the melody is secondary, regarding the arrangement constructed around it ... poor Igor : he never was able to produce a consistant suite of notes worth being played by any musician, which explains his delusive comment. ♥

Originally titled 'Time Present and Time Past'. Best version in my opinion is by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ogerman, recorded 15 years later in June 1988... it's a slightly faster tempo.

This work and Symbiosis are probably his best two pieces, but there are a number of others. The only ones to be avoided are his so-called Concerto for Orchestra and Concerto for Piano. These two works were cannibalized reworkings of Symbiosis. They should never have been created. One wishes he had written works with those titles but he sadly didn't.
