A lot of those men that were released the other day, their eyes showed broken souls, regardless if they were jogging, hobbling, or wandering aimlessly. A few looked further gone than shell shocked. And they don't have the resources now for those who forgot how to take care of themselves, so those will be the ones that will create more issues with petty crimes as they need mental health hospitalization or 24 hour supported housing with medical care and social services wrapped around them.

The only reason why he wasn't tortured was because he entered for a religious pilgrimage as an American, and the fact that the US had no direct involvement in Syria since Obama bowed out. If he was an American reporter, who reported in a way that made the Assad regime look bad, he probably wouldn't have been as lucky. All really depended on which prisons they were sent to.
@MeshugaMatch-z6z

You must not be a Christian then, but you speak as if you are. Syria/Aram is one of the first places to have a Christian community in the world, and it has many connections in the Bible. While Jesus visited Syria/Aram, he appointed one of his Apostles Peter, the first Pope ever. Southwestern Syria is part of what we consider the “Holy Land” along with Israel, Palestinian territories, Lebanon, and Western Jordan.

@@pamelagarlito7149 How do you know? You have no proof, you are just making wild assumptions based on wild conjectures. The man said he was on a Christian Pilgrimage. So you’re calling him a liar because he’s an American? But you don’t question the other prisoners backgrounds, just him only? Not every American is a soldier or CIA agent. You do realize Americans do live and travel abroad? To me your comment is just crazy. Calling someone a mercenary or a private contract based solely on the fact he is an American. Syria has ties to the bible, so it’s not shocking when he claims he was on a Christian Pilgrimage.

I hope they find Austin but I fear those who have been missing and not found, there's bound to be mass graves somewhere. It's best they interrogate the commanders who know where mass graves are located so a team can go in there and dig for their remains. It'll take years for the remains to be identified and return them to their families so they can be buried properly.

Obama backed down months after he was taken, and Ruzzia had already gotten involved. He could be in a gulag for all we know, as most imprisoned in Syria over a decade ago are likely long gone. So far, the longest serving prisoner released that I've heard as of yet was 7 years.

Americans travel freely. As long as they don't commit crimes in other Countries or get kidnapped like this Joe Schmoe, there's no reason to inquire about anyone's whereabouts. This guy screwed himself up by entering a Country with no US diplomatic presence. The US has no embassy or legal consulate in Syria. He traveled there at his own risk. Right now there's an INCREDIBLY noxious & repellant US Citizen named Ramsey Khalid Ismael (stage name "Johnny Somali") basically trapped in South Korea. The Koreans are not letting him leave the Country & the US Federal government also is telling this guy "Sorry, bud, you're on your own". The reason why the US isn't getting involved is because Mr. Ismael broke Korean laws while doing something called "nuisance streaming". He has a pending criminal court date & is forced to wait in Korea until his trial in March. Them's the rules there. With freedom comes personal responsibility.

Nuisance streamers earn money online by live streaming themselves annoying, harassing, or insulting other people. Microsoft Copilot answer How much does 113 billion dollars weigh? That’s a fascinating question! The weight of money depends on the denomination of the bills or coins. For simplicity, let’s assume that we are talking about 113 billion dollars in $100 bills. A $100 bill weighs about 1 gram. So, let's do the math: 113 billion dollars would be equivalent to 1.13 billion $100 bills. 1.13 billion grams is 1.13 million kilograms or about 1,130 metric tons. That's roughly equivalent to the weight of around 815 compact cars! If you prefer to think in terms of coins or other denominations, the calculations would be different. Do you want to explore another scenario?😁

Oh dear god. He was looked after. He was reported missing in Hungary last year. Then his pilgrimage was taking him to Damascus. People (white people) go on pilgrimages all the time right ? 😜 They treated him well because he may be worth something in times of negotiation or they didn’t have beef with US since your worst President, Obama, was kicked to the curb.

The Russian Federation wants to reach an agreement with the new leadership of Syria on the preservation of bases at the naval port in Tartus and at the Khmeimim air base. The naval base is the only Russian hub in the Mediterranean. The airfield is used to support Russian operations in Africa.
