These three songs are all super poppy and all tend to follow that colorful/pastel tone, but their roots are actually in hiphop/rap. If you wanted to watch more from them check out Mic Drop Remix, ON Kinetic Manifesto Film, or a personal favorite of mine Danger! They also change their hair color like every other day, so don't try to pick them out by their hair. For example, in the three music videos you watched the ones with blue hair were three different members (Boy With Luv was V, Dynamite was RM, and DNA was Suga). Yup, it's seven members. They do toss in some English words or phrases, but for the most part they sing in Korean. However, Dynamite was completely in English and was their first every full English song! One thing that people like about BTS is the messages in their lyrics. Songs like Love Myself: Answer, Black Swan, and Fake Love talk about some pretty deep things. It's hard to make recommendations considering BTS has something like 300 songs.

Just some more info on BTS. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in english. They are a 7 member group (3 rapper and 4 vocalists) and they debuted in 2013. Their names are Jin age 27 vocalist, Suga age 27 rapper, J-Hope age 26 rapper, RM age 26 rapper, Jimin age 25 vocalist, V age 24 vocalist, and Jungkook age 23 vocalist. Like others have stated BTS music covers a lot of genres hiphop, rnb, pop, latin, and edm (these 3 videos just happen to be some of their more upbeat and poppy songs). They also have a very diverse fanbase with people of all ages, nationalites, races, and genders. They sing and rap in korean with some english mixed in and like others have said you can turn on subtitles for their songs. Dynamite the 2nd song you listened to was their first song completely in english. It became their first number 1 on the billboard hot 100 charts in the US. The Dynamite music video also broke the record of the most viewed video in 24 hours on youtube with 101.1 million views. They have also had 4 number 1 albums in the US (3 in less than a year). BTS were the underdogs when they started and came from small almost broke company and now they are the biggest group in the world. Their music covers all subject matter such as mental health, self love, societal expectation, and so much more. They are also very involved in the creative process of their music by writing and/or producing most of their songs. All 7 members are given their chance to shine in the group and even people who have a favorite say how important each member of BTS is. They have performed and won awards at many american music award shows and we are hoping for a grammy nomination this year. And if you are interested BTS are releasing a new album on November 20th called BE and they will be releasing a new music video the same day for their new song Life Goes On. Even BTS also does the same but the difference is that every group's concept is different and as for BTS it's very unique because of the meaning of their lyrics mainly focuses on removing stereotypes and focusing many good values. - So there are 7 members in BTS rappers = RM, Suga, jhope Vocals= jungkook, jimin, taehyung , jin Dancers=. Jhope, jimin, jungkook Some of their music Fake love, blood sweat and tears, Black swan, On, Not today, Spring day, mikrokosmos, idol, mic drop etc. Their live performances are really good like in MMA 2019 and recently they performed in Jimmy Fallon show and iHeartRadio. So glad with your conclusion. That's what BTS wants to give people through their music, positivity and good energy. Though, I'm not telling that all of their music would be all like that poppy, happy. But I can assure you that even if you can't understand the lyrics what they're saying.. you can really feel something. They have that kind of magic where they can relay the message of the song even if you can't understand Korean. That's why they're named as Music Innovator by Wall Street Journal. They're just not pretty boys who knows how to sing and dance, they're real artists. They mostly write their songs, they arrange and produce. If not, they always make sure that they will have a touch or say on it.

Kpop actually has a lot of rapping, honestly they have some of the best rappers I've seen. BTS has a really strong rap line (only three of them are rappers, the other four are vocalists; basically most kpop groups divide their members into vocalists, rappers, and dancers). Two of the BTS members, the first one who rapped and the guy in all white, actually started as underground rappers in Korea. But in general there's a lot of rap-focused groups, or solo rap artists, too, and it's all Kpop. I think it's more useful to think of Kpop as an industry rather than a genre -- there's a lot of artists with very different styles, a lot of groups like BTS genre-hop a lot, and there are groups that only do bubblegum pop music and groups that do rock and they're all in the same industry.

BTS don't want their music to be labeled "kpop music", they made that very clear on several occasions. It's a label used to other them and separate them from other world stars. Dynamite especially is also a very bad example of what bts usually does, the song is completely written and composed by American songwriters. BTS usually writes and produces most of their own music, the best representation of bts would be songs like "spring day", "silver spoon", "ddaeng" 🤔 I recommend you watch the introduction "who is bts" :)

Bts is more then just a kpop group , more then just a boyband who caters to just teenage girls ( FYI their fanbase is diverse of all ages and race ) their a movement! BTS is huge is because they separate themselves from other kpop groups . They want their music to inspire change , motivate people and spread positivity. And challenge societal norms / stereotypes. The English translation of their korean name is “Bullet proof boy scouts “ BTS isn’t just currently the biggest kpop group right now , their the biggest GROUP AND BOYBAND in the world right now out beating current mainstream American artists and groups . Ironically some bts fan don’t like them being labeled as a “boyband” because usually comes with negative comments and people thinking they don’t write their own music but the reality is BTS actually write their own music and produce. They have had members who produce music for other artists in Korea as well. Also what’s funny some fans don’t like to box bts as “kpop group “ because of how much accomplishments and impact they made not just for themselves but for kpop community , American music industry and Asian Artists in general . Their name connects to their music. Bts is respected because they tackle a lot of issues and societal problems that occur within Korea that also RELATES to anyone in the world. Korea is known for mental health and suicide issues. It’s considered to be TABOO to bring up sensitive topics like this. You have to understand the country is very strict and conservative. BTS music tackles topics such as mental health, suicide, depression, addiction, parent abuse , anxiety, generation gap and differences between the old generation and new young generation, corrupt , academic system And teaching people about self love and self respect , self care . Their music connects to all ages/ gender : men , women , boy, girls . Which is why their fanbase is huge and VERY DIVERSE. So please don’t think their fanbase is just teenage girls . Overall , BTS is popular and highly respected because they work hard to become more then just a pop group , but a positive inspiration . They show music has the power to transcend and translate messages regardless of AGE, gender, race or religion . To answer your question, it's not a BTS thing. It's a KPop thing. KPop is not just a genre of music. It's all about the whole package. It's hard or impossible to find a KPop group who doesn't sing, rap, dance, with pretty faces and clothes and awesome video production. You're right, they got it all, especially BTS! Personally for me, the only edge of BTS from other KPop groups is that each of the members has their own charisma that when you think of it each of them can still pull-off a solo performance or even a concert! So imagine, how oozing the stage presence would be when all of them will be combined or be on one stage. I don't know, some people are just so blessed to be born with such star quality. Yes, they have trained and studied everything for years to be what we call idols.. but I believe if you don't have that star quality and approachable demeanor, you will still not suceed no matter how much you study and how talented you are.

FYI boy with love is made for their fans since now they are really BIG. We can see it from the lyrics. Boy with luv. Boy means BTS and Luv means ARMY. You can see it from the MV ARMY. ver.
