The name "Mocro mafia" refers to organized crime groups from Moroccan origin in the Benelux region. Its a relatively new phenomenon that develloped in the last 3 decades amongst 2nd and 3rd generation Moroccan immigrants in Europe. At one point the Italian Ndrangheta mafia had a monopoly over the European cocaine trade controlling roughly 80%. Today the Mocro mafia is known to control the largest part of the trade alongside the Albanian mafia with an estimated revenue that reaches in the billions a year. They are also known for working closely together with high profile Camorra and Ndrangeta figures within the Italian mob, so you can say that they are equally as organized. Although the Mocro mafia does have very little influence in the mainland of Morocco and is mostly concentraded in the Rif area in the northen part of Morocco (which is also the largest cultivating place for hashish in the world).
