I have watched Yoel's journey from its start here and have told them both so many times how wonderful it is to see someone who embraces the gift of American freedoms with such a huge amount of appreciation. How so many of the citizens here who take everything for granted and really have no appreciation for the Grace of God for them to have been born here in America, yet turn their back on that gift and actually wish to try to bring communism to this nation and impose it on the rest of us. The joy and wonder of Yoel's exploration of everything that we have and their homeland had deprived them of due to the communism of their homeland, the sadness they feel when they look at their families still trapped there and unable to share in the freedom they find here, how anyone could watch their videos and not have a deeper appreciation for our American way of life simply amazes me.

I love Yoel and Mari. It’s a beautiful thing to see Yoel get so shocked and in awe about things that are every day for us. He gets to try things he’s only seen on television that he didn’t even know was real! His first paycheck from UPS that they mentioned, he bought groceries with it and donated everything to local food drives and soup kitchens. They’re both wonderful humans and I wish we could do more to liberate his fellow countrymen and more specifically their families from the horrors of communism.

I agree but unfortunately Cuba has no natural resources that are useful to the U.S., and they are no threat to the United States of Americas military. The U.S. likes to say that they fight for democracy all over the world and for impoverished and oppressed people but just 90 miles from its mainland a tiny communist country oppressing its people are allowed to continue to exist with impunity. The U.S. military can wipe out Cubas military in less than a month and who else in the world would dare get in involved in defending a country so close to the U.S.? And the sad part about it is that Cuban American senators like Marc Rubio don't want a free Cuba because they will have no platform to run on if Cuba is liberated from communism. The one thing missing from this segment is the most important. To truly appreciate freedom it means you have to defend it. I have watched Yoel and Marissa's journey since the beginning, and I think watching their KZbin channel should be required for every single American teenager. They both have such a strong appreciation for this country's freedoms and responsibilities, and those are things that are sadly no longer taught in our "woke" schools. Instead, they are teaching our children to hate this country and tear down the statues of our founding fathers. Abraham Lincoln once said something like "Be careful what the schools are teaching your children, they are the leaders of tomorrow".

That’s not to say slavery and the work slaves endured did not boost and spark growth for the early American economy, but there was a whole half of America who’s foundation and success was built without any slaves. The north was a huge part of Americas growth, hence why NYC was the biggest city in America so early on. Slavery is a stain in humans history. All humans. I remember taking part in Operation Obangame in Africa when I was in the Navy and meeting Africans where were willing to do anything for a shot at coming to America. They told me that they’d sign up for the infantry in the Army (we were at war at the time) and take that chance over where they lived. It was heartbreaking.
