I'd call it a satire rather than a comedy. Comedy would imply the intent of the film was to make us laugh. I do not see where the film was intentionally attempting to make the audience laugh(outside of a few brief scenes). It's more pointing out the ridiculousness of the yuppee lifestyle that embodied the 1980s.
