I love the presumption that a visit to white trash Graceland is a “must” visit. No, it really isn’t. Oh, a singular visit is just as appealing as a visit to Mount Rushmore or the Alamo. One. And done. Me? Show me regional cooking demonstrations. Visits to regional food markets/vendors. Introduce me to local farmers/merchants deeply in love with their communities. Tell me genuine stories of their connection to the land. The water. That’s what I want from a vacation in the heartland of America. 🇺🇸
