71 year old Army here. They were all in their teens except Jin and he was 20. Jung Kook was 15. Did you notice they were singing "Shimmy Shimmy Ya"? Very Wu Tang if you ask me! I was looking at the captions on the video and it’s so off 😂 but I hope you guys see the actual lyric video or get a version with subtitles. Cc always do people wrong! But it was a fun watch , it’s always fun to see baby BTS , amazing how young they were and still can see they were going places. This was their first mv. Jungkook was only 15! Took me a while to find the answer, but it has bugged me for a while too. Apparently the bass line is very reminiscent of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s deep cover but not a sample. Edit: which of course has influences and samples of its own like sly and the family stone. The fact is namjoon and suga are big hip hop heads and they got j hope in the fold with the maknaes taking inspiration.

This was their debut song in 2013! Jungkook raps which i think would be cool to see more of in their current music and Jimin always makes me laugh in this era because this look is just not him! Also, having him show his abs at 17 international age makes me cringe a bit being 37.

Their lyrics from the auto-translate live video has a lot of translation errors and goofy out-of-context words that spoils the flow and meaning of the song (if you're reading along). Their lyrics to this song are so touching and deep that I hate that even ONE word is wrong!🙃 I love the live performance of Hip Hop Lover! Maybe you could do live AND color code?🙂
