He says he won’t be one of these hypocrites who pretends he doesn’t enjoy his money and that he’ll look forward to wealth making him more comfortable, but that it has its limits and that it’s possible to have too much money in the hands of a small percentage to where it’s detrimental to the general population as a whole. It’s a great interview I thought.

In the 1830's The Shell Trading Company began selling exotic sea shells. They imported tropical shells and sold them as shell bejeweled boxes and such. As the importer (Marcus Samuel) was able to control the flow of shells and manipulate supply and demand. His son's inherited and began also selling kerosene and eventually the Shell Oil Company was born and still exists today. So this video using selling sea shells is amazing. (and also based on historical fact). Ren never said he didn't care about money... he's ok with it but he also is aware he's part of the system.

I don't think he is denying that he isn't part of the money game quite the opposite. I think he is saying that this system that we are all locked into is a problem but at the same time as you say we can't really get out of it (unless you are totally self sufficient and live off the land). We need money to live, we like material things to make us happy and people at the top take full advantage of this and us. From what I gather Ren has an entreprenial spirit and has from an early age. However he does give back, he ain't selfish with his money and he has to make money for all of his treatments one way or another. This guy is business savvy. He is an independent artist and that extends to business.

Ren is not against capitalism hes even stated this, hes against the abuse that large corporations cause to people and the planet. And hes right about how business economics works though money game 2 is directed towards large corporations and not the smaller companies. I studied economics in college and they covered this and i was stunned at the lengths these companies went to to dominate the market because they realised that the more power and money they had the more control they had over poloticians, the law and even entire countries. You only have to look at what Monsanto has done to smaller poorer countries to understand this. They even tried to sue european countries because they refused to use their products, Monsanto werent powerful enough to succeed but they tried. Yea Ren is pretty spot on with this song but it is obviously overdramatized a bit for the appeal.

I know it maybe will not mean much to you but here is the thing. i am a total introvert, even liking a video is sometimes "hard" for me. So me writing a comment is a step forward. I just want you to know, that at the beggining i did not kinda like you cuz yo sometimes critisied Ren (a figure that i like alot). But then more as i watched your videos and reactions to Rens's music you kinda grew to my heart cuz you are always real, honest and say what you think. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to money game pt.2, it's so good. I suggest giving it another listen without pausing, it's the best way to enjoy the "business economics in a nursery rhyme" part (Fun fact: I only found about Ren a couple months ago, but apparently he went viral with this song because someone made an edit with Luigi singing the nursery rhyme, and that part became a meme. And that's what he's referencing in Hi Ren when he says "We've heard it all before, oh She sells seashells on the seashore". All that to say this is one of his earlier viral songs before Hi Ren. One before that is Blind Eyed, with Sam Tompkins. Suggest going for the Music Crowns version, if you planning on checking it out. Or the one which has "feat Angry Carpark Attendant", that's a fun version and not many people have reacted to it)

Money isn't evil. The love of money, that's what's evil. Greed and selfishness are the catalysts to turn money into evil. Money itself is a very useful tool for barter and trade in an economy. I feel the monetary system first started to become corrupt and evil is when governments started creating money without a backing for it and people forgot that all monetary notes and coinage is supposed to be a representation of something of actual value. It's supposed to be backed by either a commodity that has a value or by a valued service or skill-set provided. It's not something that can or should be printed up arbitrarily.

IT’S NOT ABOUT MONEY OR INVESTMENTS OR CAPITALISM BEING EVIL. It’s about the lengths we go to rig the “game” and distort the idea that the way to win is to have the most money, no matter the cost to others or the planet to do so, and the lies we tell others and ourselves while trying to “win”. And that it’s so easy to try and point the blame on companies and politicians when we are all participants, every one of us. He's not anti-capitalist and has been very clear about that in interviews and lyrically across many of his songs. He doesn't believe money is evil. It's unchecked greed that he's calling out and that corrupts the whole system. He's also very clear that we are all part of the money game. Why do you think he killed himself off in Money Game 1? He turned the mirror on himself and stopped playing. The copyright claim is from a false company. They have been doing all over youtube for a bunch of independent artists. That isn't Ren claiming it.
