Ren's music is subjective to the masses. I believe this, accompanied with HI REN is why he went viral so quick. No matter who you are or what kind of music you enjoy, Ren more than likely has a song you either identify with or just fall in love with. This, accompanied with his back story, makes you just want to hear more. Before you know it, you are listening to genres you never even thought you had a taste for. REN is the best rabbit hole I have ever gone down. His music is the epitome of art.

People often call gifted musicians genre-less because they can do so much but I’ve never seen an artist that truly had no specific genre until Ren. For context, the hip hop album coming out that he did for fun just because he likes rap is sitting at #2 in digital preorders worldwide, but his first love is singing and guitar. Check out his album Freckled Angels or the Demos EPs if you want more ballad/rock/alt songs. All amazing.

ren's best song and genre is up to what you like the best... you may like his rock or his rap or his pop or any other fusion he makes that does not fit any stablished genre. musically he is gifted with this amazing feeling and sense that is not a surprise he can bend genre, or break containers, and all of his music at least in my opinion is catchy, simple, but elegant and ear pleasing. about his lyrical compositions they are all over the place from fun and raw, to grotesquely dark, thru the whole spectrum yet clever and clear, leaving just the perfect amount of mischievousness and profundity, that sparks theories and all kinds of interpretations with out leaving room for his ideas to be twisted(too far) by the interpretation of the listener. so just pick your poison and enjoy it!

Your point on Ren's comfort zone is spot on I think. At core, I think Ren is a musician, so I think he is always most comfortable with a guitar or piano while performing. That's why his Murderer Live was so good! I liked the acoustic version of Animal Flow better as well!
