Also the same reason that people opt. to spend nearly a £1000 on a new phone because it has an apple on the back, when alternatives can do pretty much the exact same stuff (and sometimes better) for much less $$$. Ignorance is the main catalyst, reinforced by a strong desire to fit in.

"I had a point to make... but I started to think about Keira Knightly and forgot what it was." :) The flaps behind the wings of an aircraft are called flaps - except for the small ones at the ends of the wings which are ailerons - flaps are used to change altitude, ailerons to bank the plane to one side or the other (pitch vs roll, if you like).

flaps change the shape of the wing to make it produce more lift it does not make the plane change pitch thats the elavators which are on the back of the tail

Nissan made: the 240/260/280z, 300zx, the skyline, silvia, pulsar gtir and now they still make the GTR (successor to the skylines) more really cool and sporty cars (imo). I think you would you probably appreciate the brand more if you googled those models and. And because you like suvs maybe you like the nissan juke (R)

You talking about associating the logo with the value of the car is a typical US thing. The Japanese invented Lexus, Infiniti and Acura to sell luxurious Toyota, Nissan and Honda in the US. Most of those cars are sold with the original badge around the world.
