The outside scenes were filmed in Doncaster South Yorkshire, not far from where I live, when filming wasn't taking place the shop was actually a hairdressers.

What the younger generation probably won't realise is that Fry's Turkish Delight was advertised on TV for a number of years with the slogan "Full of eastern promse". At the time, this cross-reference woud have been obvious.

@@ChadeoYT It's a lovely heart-warming show. Having had a generational general store and post office, some of the characters are quite familiar! Our shop was started by my grandmother in 1909.

10:26 lucky she says, I wish my support told me as if my skin or white of eyes look yellow nice to be told so I drink more water (the tube through liver that filters is larger than most people have so it does not filter as well) So you know in one episode he does get injured from the till as just catches his finger when shuts (for real, not just for the show)
