Although 60% of lawyers does sound like alot, when u also take into account the suing culture in the US, it becomes more reasonable, due to simple supply and demand. I don’t know another country where a citizen could run the risk of being sued for giving CPR.

Black Friday is nowadays also in THE NETHERLANDS.... not for 1 day... but also the week before or after 🤣🤣🤣

I can affirm that. I remember walking into a big store last year which was surprisingly crowded and asking the guard what the fuss was all about and he replied rather self aware “it’s Black Friday, it’s some new American thing”.

Black Friday has been something that occurs in The Netherlands as well, but not on such a big scale as in the US. And like the video said: it doesn't bring in a lot more money and customers. Also, we have the Solo Cups, but we just call them Red Cups. And we have made them environmentally friendly: they are made out of paper now. Some people buy them, but the hype has died down. In The Netherlands, you are only allowed to hang up the flag on certain days, like "Dodenherdenking" and "Bevrijdingsdag". Wearing it on your clothes is considered nationalistic behavior, almost considered racist. This rubs a lot of Dutch people (understandably) the wrong way as other cultures are allowed to show their flags any day of the year.

Don't agree on your last comment. I personally know no one who would like to show the flag and why would you.
@redmess127
@redmess127 8 ай бұрын
@@user-xi6nk4xs4s It's not about wanting to show the flag: it's about the choice. Making the symbol of the flag mean almost a bad thing while other cultures over here are allowed to do it in whatever way they can and want. That just isn't right. That's discriminating against your own flag.
@user-xi6nk4xs4s
@user-xi6nk4xs4s 8 ай бұрын
@@redmess127 Maybe that's because flags of other cultures??? (didn't know cultures had flags) don't have any meaning on a national level whatsoever. The flag is a representation of the country, and the government of the country has as representatives of the population decided to put some rules on when and how to use it. I prefer it this way, so not every halfwit can fly the flag, and show himself of as representing our country. It's bad enough that this happens in sports. And yes, it is right, as the rules have been accepted into the law by our representatives. Welcome to democracy.

Yeah showing your flag is considered right-wing when you're dutch but it's allowed if you're a palestinian or some other minority. It's so utterly hypocritical and outlines how unfair our programming truly is. And how truly racist and blind to racism the people who criticize it are.

Tooth remark; my dentist ta a time once told me the following: Your teeth look more yellow because the enamel (outer layer) is more transparent due to a good crystalline structure which showed the underlying layer and that apparently meant it was also above average hard which is a good thing. This was different from teeth stained yellow which was bad.

here in the Netherlands, we too have Black Friday, its definitely copied from your guys, but it's nowhere near as intense, Usually the onlyt difference is ... the paper signs, showing your black friday is active. but most of the time its just the regular amount of people in the store haha :) and it usually lasts for about a week, so the name ''friday'' in black friday, makes no sense here :P also Red Cups are very commonly used. Also sold at most stores, even in different colors and sizes! Mostly used by people, going to someone's party, and they're expected to bring their own drinks :)

What shocked me when I was a teenager was the American mother of a classmate of mine complaining about not every single supermarket offering a large stock of disposable cups, plates and cutlery. I had gone over to my classmate’s home to help with a school project. The family had just moved from the US to the country we were living in at the time. Apparently, they always used disposable cups, plates and cutlery for all their meals. I was flabberghasted. I only knew disposables as something you used at some parties or picknicks. Not for every day use. It seemed so wasteful. I know this wasn’t something every US family does, but apparently single use cutlery, plates etc is way more common in the US. The mother also complained about them being comparatively a lot more expensive. I’m really happy about single use plastics now being banned for public events in a lot of European countries. We don’t need the massive amounts of plastic waste. As for garbage disposal: I never thought of it as convenient. Ground up waste stinks and those things seemed very prone to breaking down and clogging up to me. It also always surprised me how much food that family was throwing out. Why cook massive amounts of food, heap more than you can eat on your plate, and then throw out the leftovers and whatever you left on your plate? Adapt the amount of food you’re cooking (or eat leftovers the next day), and only dish up what you can eat. If needed, go for seconds. And thirds if you’re that hungry.

About the teeth withening: it is done in The Netherlands as well, but here it is a little bit of a celeberty thing. People who white their teeth are perceived as vain. There is however a lot of withening toothpaste, which uses purple to cancle out the yellow of your teeth. And just as in the UK, it is normal to get blacelets in your teens payed by your health insurence. Black Friday is actually adopted in The Netherlands as well. A lot of companies have black friday deals and even black friday weeks. They just take advantage of the Amarican pop culture to throw sales and sell a lot, supposedly for christmas presents. The reason there is no viral 'crazy' video's on black friday here, is because it is mostly online stores that do this, or big fysical stores that also have a webshop.

We don't even have college sports in Finland. Young athletes are members of the local sports teams and compete in their age groups against other cities' teams. Bigger cities can have more than one team per sport eg. we have two competetive swimming teams in my city.

Realtors also don't have ads here in Europe. We might have Black Friday sales in Belgium but it isn't really worth it. The discounts aren't very high. No one is camping outside stores and stores also don't open in the middle of the night for Black Friday. I don't own a Belgian flag and probably never will. About the white teeth... as a European I found it hilarious that Johny Depp's teeth where discribed as rotten a while back because he's not into the teeth withening fad. He's teeth are a very normal color for someone his age who's a smoker. Americans are so not used to see normal colored teeth on tv they see them as rotten.

You shouldnt look at percentage of countries but percentage of people. If a country has half of the inhabitants of the world it should have half of all the occupants in a certain sector. The US has 330M inhabitants on 8B worldwide. That is like 4% of all people. Maybe you could say lawyers is a more western/rich country thing making 10% ok in the US. That is very different percentage than your 1/200 countries = 0,5%.

On black friday: Is I see it from outsinde the US of A, It is just a scheme to get rid of last years stock so shops can have the current models in stock for the x-mas season. Neverteless an only one year old model of anything for a fraction of the price may still be a great deal for people not needing to one up their neighbor. Somewhat related, I once negotiated the price of the current model down because I ordered the previous version online and they no longer could deliver it. It was somewhat more expensive than the model I ordered but way cheaper than they advertised the new model for. (I could afford it and the the extra features were worth the small markup but not the asked price.)

Oke, my theeth are yellow too, thats really normal for teeth... Chees from a spray can.... ugh, only Gouda cheese here! (or another real cheese!) Black Friday: it came to us from the US (I live yn The Netherlnds). I never buy anything than, because in the weeks preceding they raise prices and on Black Friday they are lower lowest etc. Just the average normal pricing. In The Netherlands we more rely on special discounts the whole year through. And that can really save yoy the money. The example you give for a $500 TV for just $100, well thatr just won't happen here. And as said, people don't care about Black Friday Deals here. Solo cups: never heard of those. I've seen those red cups in stores, but it's plastic... And that is not allowed her anymore. (yeah, really) Free refills.... only at IKEA for the coffee or tea. Oh, and some McDonalds do that here. For Flags: we have rules when to put a flag out. But we also see a flag as something special, to celebrate something.

Hey Charlie I think that the lawyer stuff is because in the rest of the world there is not a lawsuit for everything! And it doesn't make that much money anyway! We also know the white teeth thing in the Netherlands! Luckily we're not crazy about it, it looks unnatural and strange! Some famous people do it but it's still weird! We know Black Friday but not like yours. We generally have to laugh at the scenes in America on Black Friday. We can also buy red plastic cups in the Netherlands. We think it's quite cheap . The ambiance is more important, although this does not apply to students. We are not allowed to show our flag all the time, only on special days.
