I got to meet him in 1985. I won a radio comp with eon fm. 3 hot laps around calder park raceway. I was only 15 so it took my breath away. to talk to him for about 30 mins afterwards. I was already addicted to anything with an engine but those 3 laps and quick chat took it to a new level. He was a kind and generous man. I went to his funeral service in Melbourne and it broke my heart.

I used to work for a bloke who would buy a new car every 2 or 3 years. Holden or Ford it didn't matter, when it was time for a new car what ever won Bathurst that year. As long as it was Aussie made

"Win Sunday, sell Monday" is being quoted from the days when there were up to eight classes of vehicles that were straight from the showroom floor, no modifications. Engines were sealed and stamped to prevent mods. It's a mockery that today's cars cannot be seen in a showroom aand are not even manufactured by the makers they are purported to represent. Technically Peter Brock never raced in today's class of vehicles. This is NOT the 1000th. race as being promoted, the category started in 1992.

This was an interesting view of our iconic race. I used to live 30 minutes from the track and my wife an I used to go to Bernard's Bakery for breakfast before doing a lap or two around the track. We used to be members of The Australian Racing Drivers Club (owners of the track) Kangaroos? WTF? I live in Australia's capital (Canberra) and I have these rodents bouncing down the street just past the front door. I hope you get to watch the race this weekend, it won't disappoint!

I live in Bathurst, a 5 minute drive (under road conditions) from the track, we can see and hear the cars across the top of the mount. That promo just touched the sides I assure you. Even at the speed limit, when it's a public road, it's complicated enough, at race pace it cheats physics at every turn.

PPPFFFTTT, you just get a couple of designated drivers and and they buy some too. Or do what I did, go for a week and buy a case each day and store it in the van in the campground. 2 cases a day for 3 days...no probs :)
