Now, I'm not British, but as Americans we share a very common problem... out of touch wealthy people in government. And by wealthy, I mean extremely. I'm not going to demonize someone for being a millionaire in politics, not your basic millionaire. But if you cross that 1/4 of a billion mark, you shouldn't be allowed to serve in government, elected or appointed (obviously this wouldn't apply to a a monarch, although I think a triarchy would be better). But over here we what I would say is a bigger problem... the wealthy and the corporations buying their way into politics through donations, and through hiring politicians as "consultants".

The video that confused you a bit was the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, talking to somebody working at a burger place about finance jobs moving outside London. When Rishi Sunak asked the guy what he was doing for Christmas he said he hoped to get a place at St Mungos (a charity that provides beds for the homeless), so he didn't have to sleep on the streets. This just demonstrates just how out of touch our Prime Minister is with what is really going on in this country - he has no idea at all.

But in his present circumstances I'm sure he'd appreciate being told where he could go to, to stay for more than one night - a place with a guaranteed bed for him for every night - rather than have to sleep rough on the streets like he does. A conversation where he could be assured there was a place he could stay at where he would be warm & safe. Where he'd have access to a bed, food and hot water for a shower. Then he could start to rebuild his life and think of the future where, all going right, he could work at a financial institution. That's the sort of conversation I would want, anyway, if I was in that person's shoes. A conversation where I could be given a guarantee that there was somewhere I could go to that could offer me long term support to enable me to turn my life around. Something USEFUL.

It doesn't help that in England you cannot vote until you're 18, but in Scotland I think it's 16 and 17 depending on what elections it is. However, when we're 16 we can move out, get married (with parental consent - which seems a bit odd), have kids, etc. It's all just really weird the age system. Saying that, America is even weirder with the drinking and buying guns age restrictions.

That grated on me, why is she talking to him like he's a child? and in front of their child? You're meant to be in a partnership and back each other up, not drag each other down in front of others.
