Yes this side of the nothern Germany is near and by the "Nordsee" (which is a part of the Atlantic Ocean) und it's a flat country. People say:"You can see on monday, who will visit you on sunday" Beautiful, rough und windy place.

Greetings from a north frisian island. My parents lived in east frisia close to Jever. Not a lot of americans visit us here up in the north of north germany.

I was raised in North Frisia. The entire Frisan region is worth visiting of course but the shore sides if the North Sea but also those of the Baltic Sea have a lot to offer to the eye.

Thank you for taking this Trip through my home region! I'm glad you liked it! Yes, the "Fehn" (canals) are man made. They and ditches are almost every where around here, as we wouldn't be able to live here otherwise, because the ground would be too soft.

Btw the windows bar at the bottom when fullscreening is a common bug. You can fix it by 1. opening your task manager (By right clicking the windows bar or press Ctrl + shift + esc) 2. Find the "Windows Explorer" task 3. Right click -> restart (Careful, don't close it, just restart) It basically reset the windows UI/ Overlay takes 5 seconds

Most churches in that regionwere built around the years 1000 to 1200 and still exist and are still used. Has an interesting pirate history there as well

These old buildings makes you humble you recordnice that before you there were people that build a future for the younger generation and that after you there will come generations and that every generation does its thing to preserve and to better. Germany as a country is quiet young but is founded on old common culture. A pesonal memory of mine I grew up in the old hanseatic town Lübeck you don't think about the history in day to day live than I had coutchsurfing guests from de US and the first sight they saw from the old town were a hotel whith the sighn 1296. They asked me what the number ment I told them that this hotel is aktualy from 1296 and realiced for me at the same time that this hotel is over 800 years old and will hopfully be a hotel in the next 800 years to come. The scale of time iss yust different it took over 300 years to build one of the main churches in town. These time scales ment there were cohesion an understanding and sense of comunity otherwise they would have never finised it.
