South African here. and the nostalgia hits hard with this on. i was 12 years old and selected as part of the coca cola flag bearing team for the Japan VS Paraguay game. it was in my hometown Pretoria too, one of the best days of my life, i remember being int the tunnel with the other kids and Honda was kind enough to take a photo with us, My mom made me take bigger sizes in the adidas Collection they gave us, that worked out so well because some of the stuff like the tracksuit still fit me today and I'm 27 imagine. I cant wait to give all these to my son. My Dad also got tickets from work and we went to the Japan vs Denmark, he took me and my cousins. Everyone was so happy during that period, you could basically walk anywhere and get free food and goodies people were so giving. the vibes are something ill never forget.

Wavin' Flag continued onto 2014's World Cup but it included different renditions and artists like Carlos Vives, David Correy, Millane Fernandez, Naoto, Aloe Blacc and Khaled in different languages and it was incredible. It was then called "The World Is Ours" or "La Copa de Todos" depending on the language. My favorite World Cup anthem of all time.

2010's was the best WC by far. 2014 was amazing aswell, cuz was in the football country... Especially the opening, probably the best opening of all time. I really hope that 2026 WC they really make something focused on football, from the music, till everythin, to capture the spirit... not that pop bullsh*t. I feel so fortunate to actually see both of those WC's...what a privilege.

For me the last WC with that "world biggest" feeling was the 2014. Its all about the surrounding of the tournament than the tournament itself. The 2018 was pretty good with a lot of great and legendary moment, the 2022 was probably the best ever but you didnt get that cultural and unique feeling that every WC used to carry.

I was in primary school in fifth grade at the time, and it was the second World Cup I’d watched after the one in 2006. I still remember hat everyone was allowed to bring their vuvuzelas to school, and we watched some of the games on a big screen in class, those were good times! I was so pissed off that Robben couldn’t finish it off for the Netherlands in , but it remains the most memorable World Cup for me it was all vibes and everything 🙌🏾🙌🏾
