The unique facts about Jogja (Yogyakarta): it's actually a kingdom (monarchy). It has royal palace, a Sultan (King), a queen, princes & princesses (royal family) as well that's been existed & ruled the kingdom since 1755 until now. But since 1945, this kingdom & its people officially declared that they joined the Republic of Indonesia🇮🇩. The Kingdom of Yogyakarta has its own rules, but also follow Indonesian law. That's why the full name of Jogja is "Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta" (Special Region of Yogyakarta). Because it's indeed special. Coz it's a kingdom (with the Sultan/King as the leader), but this kingdom is inside the Republic of Indonesia🇮🇩 (with the president as the leader).

Why do I love Indonesia? This is informations. You know, Mother Nature in this country is the mastermind behind major natural disasters that can hit many countries and cause many fatalities, not just 1 or 100 times, but more than that. Example : Tsunami 2004 start from Indonesia impact 20 countries (To Africa). When I was a teenager, at the high school level I always studied and read books about nature in a library located in Europe. I found a book that said "Tambora The Years Without Summer" then also found a book that said "Krakatoa". Both of these books tell about nature and its brutality at the same time. Not only that, in the book it is explained that the incident is located in 1 country but in different regions. Was it the only tragedy that was written by the International? No, there is a lot of history of major natural disasters in Indonesia that are written internationally. I have to be honest when talking about Indonesia, without many people realizing that nature in Indonesia is also very cruel, often raging, abnormal and brutal. Total natural disasters in Indonesia (8 Years Calculation) : >Year 2022 = 1.421 (Period Jan - Jun). >Year 2021 = 3,058 >Year 2020 = 2,925 >Year 2019 = 9,375 >Year 2018 = 3,397 >Year 2017 = 2,341 >Year 2016 = 2,342 >Year 2015 = 1,682 Total natural disasters for 8 years = 26.541 (This is the most violent, brutal and deadly category in the world because of calculations in 1 country, not Chile/Japan). I became very interested in the history recorded by the International and finally I bought a textbook on natural disasters in Indonesia written by European researchers, scientists and historians. It turned out to be much more amazing, that's when I fell in love with nature in Indonesia. This is not only about beauty but also about history which has a huge impact on many countries in the world. Nature in Indonesia is not only beautiful, but also very unique, different, diverse, strange and great. But on the other hand it is also deadly, brutal, often occurs, many casualties and is written in European history. If you know all the volcanoes, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, beaches, mountains, rice fields, forests, wastelands and others in Indonesia (Nature), the nature is very insane. For me personally, a visit to Indonesia is the most memorable for me because I have visited 51 natural tourist attractions. List of natural tourist attractions in Indonesia that I have visited. 1). Krakatoa. (My favorite volcanoes). 2). Tambora. 3). Aceh Museum Tsunami 2004. 4). Weh Island. 5). Lematang Lampung. 6). Ranau. 7). Anyer. 8). Ujung Kulon. 9). Lancang Island Jakarta. 10). Rian North Kalimantan. 11). Yellow Land. (I forgot this name). 12). Mesas Cave. 13). Gamalama. 14). Sulamadaha. 15). Ngurtafur. 16). Kupang. 17). Bali Island. 18). Karang Bolong. 19). Setu Babakan. 20). Bangkalan Madura Island. 21). Limboto. 22). Saronde Island. 23). Bogani Nani Wartabone. 24). Arfak Papua. 26). Jomblang Cave. 27). Karang Taraje Sawarna. 28). Lito Duyonumo. 29). Tammasapi. 30). Dukono. 31). Tonjong Canyon. 32). Curug Badak. 33). Kyura River. 34). Alif Stone Park. 35). Bono Wave. 36). Banyuwangi. 37). Halmahera. 38). Serang Banten. 39). Banda Neira Maluku. 40). Lakey Beach. 41). Puncak Bogor. 43). Mangku Kodek. 42). And Others (Up to 51 natural attractions, because I forgot the names). But that's all only 2% of all tourist attractions in Indonesia, it's very crazy. Indonesia is a complete and very diverse tour package in large quantities. Even on trains, buses, airplanes, and ships, you can see different views from one country. It's really crazy, like going to another country but still in the same country. Imagine in 1 city and even then there are many tourist attractions. What about Indonesia as a whole? Millions of tourist attractions. Therefore, many people misunderstand tourism in Indonesia because it is too much and varied. Then you will find something unique and strange, at least go on 30 different trips to tourist attractions in Indonesia and I am sure you will have a much more extraordinary experience and lasting memories. List of places I want to visit in 2024 in Indonesia : 1). Mature Kaladan. 2). Kikik Waterfall. 3). Haratai Loksado Waterfall. 4). Liang Tapah. 5). Kakaban Island. 6). Gitgit Waterfall. 7). Canggu. 8). Nusa Dua. 9). Batu Lawang. 10). Setu Patok. 11). Setu Sedong. 12). Mangroves Jakarta. 13). Mangroves Bengkulu. 14). Bukit Kaba. 15). Way Hawang Bengkulu. 16). Waisia Waterfall. 17). Bair Island. 18). Mahawu. 19). Kaliadem Yogyakarta. 20). Lemona Tasikmalaya. 21). Bukit Raya Kalimantan. 22). Toba. 23). Semeru. 24). Komodo Island. 25). Curug Parigi. 26). Pacitan. 27). Bangka Belitung. 28). Batam. 29). Labuan Bajo. 30). Sianok Canyon. 31). Meru Betiri. 32). Sentani. 33). Wafsarak Waterfall. 34). Wasur. 35). Bihewa Nabire Waterfall. 36). Kali Kaca. 37). Kali Suci. 38). Api Abadi Madura. 39). Kaolin Belitung. 40). Wamena Habema Lake. 41). Teksas Wonocolo. 42). Santera Malang. 43). Kali Gua Brebes. 44). Situ Gintung. 45). Dieng Plateau. 46). Tigaraksa. 47). Janjang Koto Gadang. 48). Sentarum Lake. (And the remaining 109 natural attractions I have not applied, because I am still looking for information on which tourist attractions I will visit in 2024). You can check the photos of the places I mentioned on Google, the natural attractions in Indonesia are crazy. Did you know if we look at the map of the Indonesia territory, it's like a person / Jinn who sleeps on his back. Sumatra : Feet. Kalimantan : Stomach. Jawa, Bali, Nusa Tenggara : Spine. Sulawesi : Bosom. Maluku : Neck. Papua : Head. Other small islands : Acne. Not only that, Indonesia has more than 500 volcanoes = Active, inactive and underwater. (Overall). QUEEN MOTHER NATURE IN INDONESIA 10/10 (Mother Nature in Indonesia when viewed 100% is very colossal). Nature in Indonesia is really insane very different class categories, there is a saying that says : (Indonesia is the throne Queen Mother Nature). There is even a study that has visited 400 tourist attractions in Indonesia and it is only 10% for him. From Sabang Sumatera to Merauke Papua (in 1 country) is expensive and long distance. It costs the same as you flying from Egypt to Dubai or Jakarta to South Korea or Spain to Belarus. Indonesia was originally not an archipelago but a mainland called SUNDALAND (Western side of Indonesia) and SAHULLAND (Eastern side of Indonesia). However, 70% of the land was sunk into the ocean. The territory of Indonesia is 60% sea, 30% (Forests, Volcanoes, Caves, Waterfalls, Rivers, Lakes, Mountains, Forests, Deserts, Cliffs and Canyons) and 10% Man-made. The total area of Indonesia is 8.5 million km² (Including land, sea and EEZ). The coastline of Indonesia is more than 98.000 km² (The calculation of 55,000 km² is a very wrong calculation because it is not from research calculations but from ordinary people who only guess). Even Indonesia has a lot of "National Parks for rehabilitation, conservation and nature reserves". Did you know that on the island of Bali itself it is estimated that there are more than 450 tourist attractions that you can visit. That's why many people compare Bali tourism with other countries (Even though Bali is one of the islands in Indonesia). In fact, in Indonesia, a lot tourist attractions (100% overall) is more than 4.800.000 - 6.100.000 (This is a total of the craziest nature in the world, that's why Indonesia has been named the MOST BEAUTIFUL NATURE IN THE WORLD AND ALSO THE MOST BRUTAL) Imagine how crazy nature is in Indonesia that is not Humanity can fully explain it. Imagine that from the past until now, nature in Indonesia has been studied by many countries. Therefore, Indonesia is called prehistoric land by the International. In one country, there are things that are different, varied, many strange and whatever. Indonesia is HEAVEN and HELL which collide with each other simultaneously, has 2 different sides. Traveling to Indonesia is not just about a relaxing and exciting travel experience, it is much deeper and more than that. You can even feel disappointed, emotional, confused, sad, tired, give up, smile, laugh, afraid, goosebumps, satisfied and others at the same time. The number of victims of natural disasters in Indonesia in 1 year : >(2022) is 1.4 million people. >(2021) is 8.4 million people. >(2020) is 945 people. >(2019) is 3.721 people. >(2018) is 10.32 million people. >(2017) is 52.930 people. >(2016) is 6 million people. >(2015) is 22.773 people. Total victims of natural disasters in Indonesia for 7 years = 25.200.369 Another informations : >Dutch band Within Temptation made the title song "Mother Earth" which describes nature in Indonesia. Even Sharon Den Adel, vocalist of Within Temptation, has lived in Bali Indonesia since childhood. >Groove Coverage from Germany has a song called "Indonesia" and "When Love Lives In Heaven" (These 2 songs are related). Groove Coverage is the one who sings the song "God Is a Girl" and "Moonlight Shadow" and "Little June". >Maria Amanda/Sabrina Nielsen, a Gothic Europe model (Denmark), has visited several places in Indonesia (Bali and Yogyakarta) and wrote an extraordinary assessment on Instagram. >The name Indonesia is taken from a word in Ancient Greek and is related to the history of Ancient Greek mythology. The Indonesian name is referred to as "GAIA". >Celine Dion from Canada has a song inspired by the music "Keroncong Indonesia" entitled "To Love You More" and in 2018 came to Indonesia. >A rock band called Fransoa from France made a song called "Aku Masih Lapar" in Indonesian languages, the lyrics mention the names of Indonesian food. >A Japanese band called "Codomo Dragon" was inspired by an animal from Indonesia named "Komodo Dragon". >The European Gothic genre band "Xandria" from Germany made a video in Indonesia in 2015 and visited Indonesia. >And others. I highly recommend coming to Indonesia.

Natural history in Indonesia is engraved, documented and enshrined in many countries in the world "Your mother was very extraordinary".

18:05 was not the hindu palace, it is Prambanan Temple nominated as the world's most beautiful Hindu temple 18:12 was Istiqlal Mosque, it built besides the cathedral. So, if Istiqlal is overcrowded for prayer time then the cathedral will open their space for Muslim. That's the great symbol of tolerance in Indonesia.

Thanks for your interest in learning about Indonesia, Johny 👌 -Nusantara is a traditional name of Indonesia, taken from a javanese word which means "outer islands", so it points more to the maritime region or achipelago. The word Nusantara was used in ancient time before the name Indonesia was first introduced back in some time 19th century. -The mainland Papua is split into two parts - western section is part of Indonesia (consist of two provinces) painted red in video and eastern section is PNG (different country). -Orangutan consists of two indonesian words = orang (man/human) and utan/ hutan (forest), so literally orangutan means forest-man. There you go .... 😁 -The diversity of Indonesian ethnicity (300-400 groups) you 've kinda witnessed that already in Alffy's video Wonderland Indonesia (singing in different language, different dance and clothing ..... and cuisine , dont you forget that one , haha). -We (Indonesian citizens only) are required to register under one of the 6 religions (this is part of the 5 principles of Pancasila, the foundation of our declaration of Independence back in 1945). -Indonesia was colonized by Dutch for about 350 years (3.5 centuries) since 16th century, and then by Japan during WW2 for 3.5 years .... hence great Dutch influence in language and cuisine as well.

Indonesian here! Your reaction video is good because you actually pause and have articulate opinion about the topic (unlike other channel that basically only says "wow" and say nothing else). As for you question about Papua, we did exploit the hell out of them back in the Soeharto era (the dictator), they did not have much political right. Papuan (the tribal part of the region at least) are still being treated as second class but I think things are getting better nowadays, albeit slowly. FYI Papuans have black skin, and as an American, you probably understand what that means. Also, the term Nusantara is correct and common way to describe Indonesia archipelago. For atheists, or non-recognized religion, you still have to choose for formality reasons. But whatever you are doing with your faith/religion, it is your own business and generally tolerated (for example, many people claim to be muslims in their document, but in reality they have traditional faith), unless if you are in Aceh which have syaria law. Love your video!

19:26 So to explain that, you can register under it, but you don't actually have to follow it. Nobody is gonna force you to. In fact I've noticed it seems to be a pretty similar situation to the US, where we are predominantly "Christian" but aside from maybe going to Church every now and again and praying, most people don't actually strictly adhere to all the guidelines.

As an Indonesian myself, born and raised: The landscape is beautiful, But the Citizens are rotten to the hearts. Some are genuinely good. But many are just... Ew... Especially the Greedy, money-hugging, government. This is why after the first year of college, I must quickly get out of this rock and flee to Japan. I don't wanna be stuck in here forever. If you combined all the corruption in the world into one place, you probably get the idea of how heavy the atmosphere is in the city is. But, I do hope Indonesia at least changed and thinks forward, not backward. Culture and Technology can coexist if only the people are smart enough to think of it in the first place. It's not about money. It's about innovation. If only though...

About the Papua exploit, mostly being done by your country, yeah USA. But gladly now our president already have an agreement about the mineral mine there, especially for gold. Now we as Indonesian as Papuans finally have a right to have control for gold mining in Papua.

This is a little inaccurate. As mention in article 33 paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution. Papua as province doesn't have right to control gold mining. Gold as natural resource are fully controlled by the Central Goverment. However Papua get Natural Resource Revenue Sharing (Dana Bagi Hasil Sumber Daya Alam/DBH SDA). DBH SDA are funds sourced from non-tax state revenues (Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak/PNBP) in the State Budget (Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara/APBN) which are allocated to regions based on a certain percentage figure to fund regional needs. For information, the amount of revenue sharing from natural resources in Papua is due to the large contribution of government revenues from the nickel and gold mining, namely PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI). As is known, the Government of Indonesia in 2018 officially owned 51.24% (from 9.38%) of PTFI shares through PT Inalum (Persero) with a transaction value of Rp. 65.6 trillion. From this The Central Government allocates 10% of PTFI's shares to the Papua and Mimika Regional Governments.
@TalLeyKAL3 жыл бұрын
I think about Papua, well as far as I know that Indonesia is a centralized state so what he means when he said "leave them alone except the mining resource..." so the central government would have limited power over these regions since they (Papua) have high autonomy over the central government...so yeah as far as I know btw, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Nusantara is the ancient name of the whole islands in Indonesia before Alfred Wallace changed during the World War II into Malay archipelago for his Wallace line mapping theory. Nusantara consisted of many great kingdoms and the biggest ones are Srivijaya and Majapahit. The kingdom of Srivijaya is related to the ancient people of Malaysia, Spore, Brunei, The Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia and even some part of Vietnam. That's why all of us 'Negara Serumpun' aka sisters countries. These two great kingdoms were centralized in Sumatera and Java.

But since the era of President Jokowi in 2014 until now, Eastern Indonesia such as Papua, has become much more advanced and prosperous. Following other provinces in Java & Sumatra Bahasa Indonesia for Indonesian who came from so many folk languages, is like English Language as an international language to the world. Indonesia frees its citizens to embrace any religion without coercion (even if it is outside the 6 official religions). Even in Indonesia there are Orthodox Christian communities, Baha'is, Jews, and others. For example, if your religion is Judaism, then the religion column on your ID card is filled with: Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa (Belief in one God), not Judaism. The meaning of the 6 official religions is that the state has official religious institutions. Religious holidays are made into national holidays, Religious education curriculum, and there are many other privileges. Meanwhile, if you embrace a religion outside the 6 official religions, you do not get these privileges.

If you're Indonesian citizen but you don't belong to any religion, just register to one you feel comfortable, bcoz it's just a for census purposes anyway, no body will enforce anything🤣🤣no worries

The principles state of Indonesia #1 is Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa, means that we Indonesian believe God comes 1st, that's why every event, every ceremonial we must make a pray, in Islamic way, Hindu's way, Christianity, etc. So the reason Indonesian must put the religion (required religion) in every form is kind like that & since we were young our parents introduce us with our religion. Christians go to church, Hindu goes to Pura (temple), Islam goes to mosque.

English is known as "money language" because in the past, most Indonesian couldn't speak English. As the time goes by, through globalization, more and more foreign companies came to invest in Indonesia and as the demand of international relations increased, the older generation pushed their children to learn English. They believe that being fluent in English is a plus point as most job vacancies required the applicants to be fluent in English. The main point is, Indonesia is a religious country. There are five religions that are formally recognized in Indonesia, and if you don't belong in any of that five religions is actually ok, yet you have to choose one for administrative purposes.

13:56 Well to be fair, the majority of people there are "native" looking like that vs a regular joe in a business suit, doesn't make you more or not native.

Lets talk about Papua. I cannot answer if indeed Papua is been exploit. But as far as i can understand, Article 33 paragraph (3) of the 1945 Constitution affirms that; "The earth, water and natural resources contained therein are controlled by the state and used for the greatest prosperity of the people." Considering that minerals and coal as natural resources contained in the earth are non-renewable natural resources, their management needs to be carried out as optimally as possible, efficient, transparent, sustainable and environmentally sound, as well as equitable in order to obtain the greatest benefit for the prosperity of the people in a sustainable manner.

i think it's okay if you don't choose between that religions if you are a tourist. but as indonesian, u need to register 1 of that religions cause in Indonesian id card still needs to state your religion. there was an idea about erasing religion part on id card but it still becomes very controversial cause indonesia is always religious. since kingdom era back then to nowadays. pardon my bad english.
