it is great seeing someone reacting to this old show, for a children's show from the late 80's, the effects work out quite well and suits the virtual reality feel

The mechanical warrior was one of 2 things in knightmare that actually gave me nightmares as a kid.. the other you haven’t seen yet.. but Jamie’s death was just bullshit in my opinion I hate it every time I see it. Sure there were other deaths that were BS but this is the one that gets me every time

I know what you mean - once in a great while distorted Knightmare scenes, which may involve the Automatum/MW, appear in my own nightmares... - and the "medal spell" incident was one of the most unjust deaths in the series. No-one had that much time. BTW one of the Knightmare fansites states that in Julian's quest Edmund Dehn (who has one of his best Gumboil moments in the same episode) repeatedly got close enough to whack him on the head but, to his own confusion/frustration, had been instructed not to do so - meanwhile Julian's team were having trouble communicating what with the ratcheting sound effect playing loud in their earpieces. Let me guess - your other "nightmare figure" was either Morghanna or - hah! rrrarrr! - the Behemoth?

You could level this criticism at many tv shows featuring kids, but you'd think they would've given the dungeoneers some direction before filming took place. The kids are almost always very slow to react & move & talk in a disinterested monotone.
