This opera/operetta singer went completely out of her comfort zone! She starts a little bit as a school teacher, but gets into it better after a few fast lines. Mind you, she only performed this once, for this show. She sang it because Davina Michelle was/is a fan of Eminem. Maria Fiselier did a lot of practice to breath in between the lines at the correct moment, it's a difficult song. The man you pointed out is Glenn Faria, composer and singer of 'Duurt te lang', a song Davina Michelle sang on the show. He writes and composes a lot of songs for other singers as well.

She had a really good singing education and has voice condition. She is an opera singer.

She works at the Berliner Komische Oper. She sings opera. Welcome in the rabbithole of "beste Zangers". There are a few years completely translated with English subtitles on YT. Denise Hoffs I think was the channel translating them. I would recommend a duet from 2018 season Barcelona and Henk Poort and Floor Jansen season 2019 singing a piece of the Phantom of the Opera. The aim is to have on artist in the hot seat and the others singing her/his songs or songs that were important to her. Most singers will sing a few outside their comfort zone, like this one. Except Floor Jansen, she is comfortable in any genre.

This is a dutch tv show with all singers. They sing songs for each other . Not a competition. Maria is an opera singer. 🇳🇱❣️the woman in the striped dress Trijntje Oosterhuis is also great. Wonderful show btw.

If you like the performances on Beste Zangers I'd recommend Henk Poort singing Sound of Silence. And moving away from Beste Zangers, maybe check out a Dutch band called Within Temptation. Especially their song called Angels. And when listening, keep in mind that the singer, Sharon den Adel, reportedly never had singing lessons.

Beste zangers.....do you really want to go down that rabbit hole? It's a show that has been around since 2010 and the concept is get a group of singers from different music genres together and let them explore each others songs. Each episode revolves around one of them and last episode of the season they do duets. It's charm lies in the respect they have for each others repertoire and careers. No competition, just love of musi and respect for each other. There are full episodes with eng subs available out there and I would recommend you watch those as it adds so much more dimension as they explain why they sing that particular song.

The Dutch are considered being the most proficient in English when it comes to non-native speakers, so not being native speakers is not necessarily a hurdle when trying to rap. As Maria is a trained opera singer (Mezzo Soprano) she has been drilled in breathing techniques which is quite a big help in rap. Having been trained in clear annunciation is also a big help, if not for the singer then at least for the audience. This is the first time I could actually understand every word of an Eminem song ^_^
