Haha, no, this isn't the words to our national anthem, this is what people "think" it should be. Just so you know, that person skulling the beer was Bob Hawke in 2017, he was Prime Minister from 1983 - 1991, in this video he was in his 80s. He once held the world record of skulling a yard glass of beer in 11 seconds. He originally was the leader of the ACTU which is the Australian Council of Trade Unions. The dinosaur, Dororthy, is a member of the kids group "The Wiggles". I think all the original members have retired, but it still goes on in name. Some of the celebrities towards the end were Peter Garrett from Midnight Oil (4:00), The Wiggles (4:14), Kylie Minogue (4:25), Angus Young from ACDC (4:35). As for vegemite, here's a good history on it and what it's made from. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ-tnml9e8x_sLs

I just realised 2 names you mentioned that 2 of my family worked with them. My father wasn’t a politician but in the ACTU before Bob Hawke was prime minister. I remember dad going to Canberra with meetings with Bob. And my daughter was in a concert in Hong Kong, gee many years ago now , different performance though, with The Wiggles. She said they were lovely men. I still have 2 pics of her with purple and yellow Wiggles. I’ve just never seen Bob and the Wiggles mentioned in the same sentence, just a bit of family trivia lol.

The "Barney" is Dorathy the dinosaur out of the wiggles. Two blokes started out a rock band called the Cockroaches. They then went to university to study early childhood education and the wiggles was born. CRICKET we just won the international cricket cup. If you don't know anything about cricket have a look at "Cricket Explained for Baseball Fans" or "The Rules of Cricket - EXPLAINED!" and then when you have got your head around it, have a look at "Cricket moments that shocked everyone".

Also when Bob sculled the beer he was surrounded by the boys dressed up as the "Richie's" after Richie Benaud & were chanting for Bob to scull. That was at the SCG at the traditional New Year/Sydney test, the 5th & final test of the 17/18 season & it was against the Poms where we easily retained the Ashes 4-0. I do remember that coz i was actually there at the SCG on that day which was day 1.

Mate you dont get enough recognition for your reactions lol im not sure what it is about the way you go about it but i have been subbed for a long time now . The primeminister thing that was Bob Hawke he held or holds not sure if its current the guiness world recond for scolling a yard glass of beer when he was at University in England at the time the video as taken he had given up alcohol and all the microphones in the foreground were from guys that were doing a take off of Richie Benaud a famous cricket commentator at the time . Bob Hawke also told bosses around Australia when we won the Americas cup from the US that they were Bums if they didnt give people the day off after the race :) What you thought was Aussie Barney was actually Dorothy the Dinosaur part of the Wiggles show i believe is pretty well known over there as well ( at least in families with small kids ) keep up the good work !

The Prime Minister Was Bob Hawk Mr 75% that was his approval rating. Bob was a Student at Oxford University in England were he broke the Guinness World Record were he sculled a yard glass (2 1/2 pints) in 11.4 seconds. The more impressive thing is the shape of a yard glass makes it difficult to scull as the bulb ot the bottom cause a wave.

No, you always miss the comedy intention. Of course it isn't the real anthem. It's a joke. Always assume any video is going to be a joke unless it's a normal travelogue. Vegemite is a super salty paste made from the stuff left over after beer is brewed. The UK has Marmite, which is similar, but runny. You use the timiest bit on the tip of a knife and blend it thoroughly with lots of butter or margarine on soft fresh white breat or fresh buttery toast. It should just tint the butter if you are trying it for the first time. You never eat it on a spoon. It is like intense soy sauce in flavour, but different. I personally prefer Australian Marmite - not the same as the UK verion, or best for me is Promite. They are sweeter. I find Vegemite has too harsh a flavour. That video is only relatable for Australians. Most would not understand the content.
