The skull caps offer little to no protection from collisions its mainly so you dont get cauliflower ears

I always write head gear as an adult. Over ten years of playing it probably saved me from a couple of concussions but maybe also a dozen cuts from head on head collisions.

The player you were asking about is Timoci Tavatavanawai. He's from Fiji and plays for Moana Pasifika in the Super Rugby Pacific competition that features the best teams from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Samoa (including players from Tonga). In the 2022 season he lead the competition stats in defenders beaten: 73 in 8 games.

Helmets just increase head collisions, it’s like a false sense of security. I’m a rugby player, and when I watch the NFL every hit has the sounds of helmets colliding, it’s nuts. I would love to play a game of American football though. It’s gotta be fun hitting someone wearing all those pads, with the understanding that runner isn’t going to pass the ball (like rugby). You must be able to just line him up and smash-em. Brutal.

Half of these would be red cards in today's rules. Much rather prefer to see big legal hits. But nice to see an American appreciating rugby!

Tackle Head down and to the side of the body is how rugby players are taught to tackle, it is to protect you
@brentdavis3102 Жыл бұрын
4:38 that's what happens if you keep your head up and in the wrong place in rugby union or rugby league. Nfl is a totally different sport when tackling and because of how the game is played the different types of tackling techniques required given the different types of tackling opportunities. Rugby you have to put your head down but positioned on either side of the attacking player because after all most rugby tackles are predominantly made head on and obviously without any helmet or protection gear. If you where to keep your head up when executing a front on tackling in rugby you'd be more inclined to do yourself a neck/spinal injury.8:17 great example of how a head on tackle should be made.

At 9:02 number 2 in the pink is the Tongan Thor. You say that the other guy isn't a wall, but he won: the bump was enough to cause Taniela Tupou to put his foot on the touch line, which is out. The black team now get the ball.

@jetsdisciple3688 Жыл бұрын
@@laurenzhuber386 did you mean that double negative, meaning that every NFL athlete has a chance in rugby? I'm gonna assume that ur too stupid to realise that... Ever heard of Perry Baker? Former NFL player who's now one of the best 7s players in the world.

In rugby its tackling is totally different. Because rugby is a sport for all shapes, you are taught to go down low to try and stop your opponent the first time. Rugby players alao generally think about getting hurt, they just go in. Its a great sport
@williamjackson65412 жыл бұрын
The most impressive part of the tackle at 6:12 was that he stripped the ball at that pace.

I played rugby all through high school. I've got two shoulders that dislocate on a regular basis to this day. Nothing feels better than putting a big hit on someone. The general rule is the harder you go the less you get hurt. Yes us Aussies are crazy 🤣 The Rugby union fellas are even crazier!

That was a good reaction, Rugby League isn't just about the big hits there is also a lot of skill. Can you do a reaction to Shaun Johnson The Lightning Footwork Warriors he plays NRL and is known for his side stepping (jukes) he played for the New Zealand team the Warriors here is a link kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWrHkJeVe8d-fbc you will like this as he is also a playmaker and kicker, has the highest points for New Zealand in international games and also Warriors highest point scorer, enjoy.

8:16 Illegal. Leading with the shoulder is a dangerous cleanout at the ruck. A clear yellow card minimum. Direct contact to th ahead is often a Red

You should look into Rugby 7s too. It's tournament play. Multiple matches a day and more spread out and faster pace. It's 7v7 for 2 7 minutes halves a game. It's also what you see in the Olympics. Usa had the 2 fastest players to play Carlin isles is probably faster than tyreek hill and perry baker
