Just done watching... It was intense and also tells about the rubbish communication system we had back then. I cried for a while when I realized that we've just rescued and saved our 41 workers who were trapped in a mine. From Bhopal Gas tragedy to 41 miners rescuing, we've traveled a long way... I won't forget German helping hand during that time, I wish if I can pay back the favor in this lifetime.

This is basically the Chernobyl of the Chemical Industry. Private Corporations really are disgusting sometimes. This private corporation was American, but it was dismantled and sold-off to other companies (to DOW Chemicals in USA and Everready in India). But the owner of the corporation escaped justice as the US government refused to extradite him to India to face sentencing. The very next year after this incident in India, this same company had a gas leak in a West Virginia chemical plant that also killed some people. This same company had lost half a thousand of its workers to Silicosis in a mining disaster in the 1920s. Thankfully , in India, at least the Nuclear industry is not privatized yet. So the nuclear safety record is quite clean. I wish other industries in India manage to emulate the levels of safety the Nuclear Industry of India has achieved.

I did have a chance to visit Bhopal a few years ago, with my family. They didn't know about it, I did. But I asked if we could make a slight detour on our way to New Delhi. So I bought this industrial grade gas mask a few years ago, made in Germany. I also bought two other gas masks. Had a great time with TSA, and India didn't really care. So we were walking through Bhopal and my mother, sweet person, asked me what was in my backpack. Now, I know history, I know logistics and chemical science. But I had no idea how long methyl-isocyanate lingers. All the sites I checked didn't really help me. So being the paranoid person I am, I told her why we're here, what happened here and told them what exactly may or may not be here. I sure as hell would rather wear a gas mask then go in without one. I told them to put them on and not take it off, under any circumstances. As we rounded the corner we saw the remains of what looked like a refinery, and just walked in. I honestly thought it would be harder than that. Although its a restricted area, its not my first time. It honestly was a bit boring but it was interesting seeing the MIC tanks, just there. When we got to the area where the tanks used to be, there was a strange odor hanging around. It got noticeably stronger towards the base of one of the structures, and I knew I spent enough time there. When we got back on the road, I double checked whether or not that smell was isolated, and I asked my family if they smelled something, because they were standing at different points of the facility and when they said yes, I knew something was still there. My only regret was not trying the food, because someone in town said the food was incredible.
