If this guy was to be an African-American he’d enter the GOAT debate. Let’s be real he’s already up there with J. Cole and the others plus he’s not just a rapper, he’s a poet to me. The worst thing about that bar is that no one can ever truly understand it until they become their own person. It's only once you become an adult and stand on your own two feet that you gain the ability to look back to your years growing up and reminiss about how you treated your parents and truly realise the sacrifice they made to give us the best chances. RIP Dad.

"Don't die by a sword that you used to shine. You can drown for your king, you don't know about Ophelia..." This has to be the HARDEST use of Hamlet in a song I've ever heard. In Hamlet Laertes wants to get revenge for his father's death caused by Hamlet. So, knowing he's the better sword fighter, he challenges Hamlet to a match but poisons the blades so all he has to do is scratch Hamlet with the sword. They both end up sounding each other with the sword and die, before Laertes dies he says he forgives Hamlet. Another reason Laertes was upset was because Hamlet and him argued over who loved Ophelia more after she died. A lot of people thought she killed herself because she had sexual relations with Hamlet but Hamlet pretty much told her to fuck off and called her a whore after her father ended their relationship. Once Hamlet killed her father she went mad and drowned in a river. The way he crafted that Shakespearean literature so perfectly into the verse is stunning. I just discovered this artist and I haven't been disappointed yet.

For those that don't know, the recording at the end is Dave's mum talking about a few of the struggles she's had in her life and then finally the pain of her son being arrested / jailed for life after committing murder. "I was selling look, I was selling tomatoes I sat on my two hands I struggled 'cause I didn't want to suffer again I just wanted, it just make me so upset I went to Hannover, they sent me back I tried so much, we have no say it here I was in detention camps for months at the end, I didn't give up I was not even twenty when I left Africa I was determined to survive I was determined to succeed I didn't have anybody, nobody was ready to help me Even when you were born You were six weeks old, this one is not even Africa, it's this nation I was on the streets for three years I have three babies in my hand Nobody let me in, nobody in this nation I couldn't pay my rent, deported gangsters carried I didn't give up, I carried my babies everywhere And now this is happening Pay me back for all those pain that I go through Everyday, I'm in pain, I'm in pain You see what he's doing to me You want to kill me, you want to kill me"

Daves artistry with word play is off the charts: My old Gs Roman I don’t need a Coliseum / my old Gs roaming I don’t need to call to see ‘em. How do you say two things at once that both link and make sense that well. That’s crazy.

OMG in heart attack at the end he says “he got soaked by his right hand, scuba dive, don’t die to a sword that you used to shine. IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SONG HE SAYS “blade same length as a javalin” dave is so fucking impressive. He genuinely makes music enjoyable and relatable when listening to it.

As much as you think that this slaps…you missed some bars bro. 1) “claims he a soldier, i know that ni**a doesn’t have balls like Greyworm” - Game of Thrones reference, Greyworm is a eunoch. 2) “A man getting birded, African moms on the floor just screaming” - young men being sentenced to life to do an “O - stretch” as they call it in the UK. Songs much deeper than you already think. Super reaction and superb choice in music bro!
