So the UK media and newspapers were all wondering who would be the next James Bond, and Idris Elba's name was mentioned, but it was frowned upon by some simply because he was black. So Wretch is saying they'd rather us remain as drug dealers (Idris Elba as Stringer Bell in The Wire) OR simply as actors in TV series and not on the big screen. So to beat those odds would be massive, so he's punching above his weight class (as in Adele the singer who used to be quite a big/chubby girl, but she lost all the weight when she slimmed down).
