Mr Hashim. I saw a video of your's in which you claimed that God doesn't need sacrifice to cleanse us from sin and that only through his mercy it could be done and that Christianity's emphasis on Jesus sacrifice to redeem us from sin is illogical and that's not how god's love works. My question is, please, as an islamic dawah expert, explain what is the necessity for/motive behind God to promise Abraham that he'll send a sacrificial lamb not only for Abraham but also for the whole humanity if as you say that God doesn't need sacrifice to cleanse our sins?

@@Sikander_37Abraham’s sacrifice was not for sin atonement. There’s no human sacrifice advocated by the Old Testament as it’s the hallmark of pagans and Satanic cults.

Of course it was for atonement for sin in the first place. Because Abraham couldn't find a ram, he chose Isaac believing that God will bring him back. So the ritual as a whole was meant for atonement for sin so that God will bring them to the promised land and Abraham's test is a part of it. That's why God proceeded by promising Abraham "...a sacrifice to save humanity..." because the ritual was meant for atonement. We'll that's a different subject to debate about. There's a difference between the human sacrifice done by pagans and the crucifixion of Jesus. In both issues, atonement is common but pagans sacrifice to please their gods but Jesus's crucifixion was for not to please the God. Therefore Jesus crucifixion cannot be paralleled with the human sacrifice of pagans. I'd like to suggest you change your position on this sir. My question was to your claim that God doesn't need any sacrifice to redemption. Here God himself promises a sacrifice. So how can you say that he doesn't need one to save us?

Next time you can also go over the fine tuning argument that a lot of the physical constants are fine tuned in such a precise way that led to life to exist. One leading to another, it's like opening multiple locks blindfolded. It's much more probable to believe in a creator

I would also reiterate strongly how quickly scientists are shifting theories rendering their "core beliefs" pretty unstable right now. Such as strong proposals of DOUBLING the currently held belief of the age of the Universe. from 13 billion to 26 billion is a HUGE disparity. And thats just one example -scientists just had a large astro-physicists event in which so many core beliefs were now being challenged on a multitude of levels. theres nothing inherently wrong with that as thats exactly what Science is supposed to do -but it also shows how limited and fragile our understanding is of Everything.

I've been so used to seeing debates against those who don't know Kalam cosmological arguments, such that to come across an agnostic who is familiar with it and proceeds to have an indepth back and forth drilling into it is quite refreshing. This is also a good illustration on how to dismantle the "I don't know empirically, therefore you also don't know" rebuttal that they thought is a sign of intellectual humility on their part when in fact it is just a prematurely prejudicial projection of their ignorance onto others. Sometimes I think it would be more fruitful to start discussions by establishing an agreement on the standards of epistemological evidence, because it seems to me a lot of atheistic/agnostic/antiislamic misconceptions stem from shaky epistemology (aside from intentional malice)

I love when they say "turtles all the way down" because the author of that quote, Stephen Hawking, believed in turtles all the way down. Go look up his lectures and interviews discussing fractal multiverse, holography, and anywhere he goes on rants (usually in lectures) about the origin of species. Anything that begins to exist must have a cause. Presumably that applies within our universe as it is based on observation of creations in our universe subject to the rules and laws that apply in our universe. Since our universe was not created within our universe, it's creation is not necessarily subject to the laws of our universe and require a cause.

We don't say we KNOW there's a God because we just want to decide which answer is more appealing. We say we know because that's the only POSSIBLE answer. It's like saying "There's a freshly baked cake sitting at a house. 3 people could have made it - one person lives in a different country, one person is on the ISS for a few months now and the last person owns that house with the cake." If we ask who baked the cake, this guy will still say "I don't know", while there's only one logical answer here.

Not sure why this guy taking this position. You mentioned he comes from LDS background… basically a Mormon, but he is not comfortable having a discussion as a Mormon. The question is Why?? Is he worried that his LDS beliefs get destroyed on camera by Hashim? Or perhaps he does no longer believe in the church and is leaning towards becoming an Atheist but doesn’t want to come out of the closet on camera, and risk his family finding out. Very possible….. Regardless I find it interesting that someone who comes from LDS background, and who is technically a Polytheists, takes the position of No God at all, while he was always taught in church there are multiple Gods… although Mormons claim they are Christians, they don’t believe in Trinity and rather believe in God head concept instead, which is basically that there are three different & separate Gods but are one in 😻 LOVE, but the father has the ultimate authority and power. I am still curious why he is afraid to adopt the Mormon beliefs during this discussion. Perhaps others can weigh in about his motivations.
