Replaced my Am Std condenser at 32 years. Still running then but serious power draw. It would dim the whole neighborhood when it started. Lol.

One of the many things I like about your work is that you are a fixer, not a seller. This is a huge difference between the residential and commercial service markets. Usually in residential it appears that the money is made in sales where as in commercial cash appears to be made from service mainly because in commercial they buy their own stuff so the service guy can't sell them a new unit.

Called out for a no cool. Verified compressor and fan not working. Verified line voltage into contactor. Verified line voltage out of contactor. Pulled common off cap and checked mF. It was zero so replaced cap. Didn't know if hard start was still good so replaced. Checked charge and cleaned condensation drain. Your welcome :)

Our 20 year old 4-ton York is still kickin' without leaks. A storm killed the compressor just over 10 years ago, and the compressor was swapped for a Copeland scroll. It's much quieter than the old one and probably increased its reliability overall.

Great video.. thought first the contactor then bad motor overheating compressor, but it was capacitor, good that your being honest. Where did you get that drain. Adaptor for you vacuum??

Why'd you replace the hard start kit if you don't know it's bad?
@JPTinioMedia4 жыл бұрын
It's good practice for something small like that. Would you change your brakes and not flush/bleed fluid because you didn't know if its still good?

There's a new gas called Bluon, or R-458a. It's meant to be a direct R22 replacement that can be used in an R22 unit. I have not done much research, though.

Lady “says” if there’s anything I could do upstairs like turn thermostat on let me know. Steve says “it’s calling now cause I can see it” 😆 Like lady is gonna understand this tech lingo. I’ve accidentally used this lingo on customers. EZ to forget they are not techs that’s why they called us. Proper response would be, thermostat is working because it’s giving me a signal here.

Without using a meter if the capacitor goes bad as everybody knows the top usually does expand and it is very noticeable also the bottom of the capacitor usually will do the same so if you remove the capacitor and laid on the flat surface and a vertical position the capacitor should rock that is also an indication of internal damageBut it is good to verify with them either just to keep in practice
