Mason and Regan are so polite and lovely. I sense that even if they didn't truly like something, they still said something positive about it. I think it's rare for teenagers these days to have good manners and be reserved. They were raised well.

@@livethephilippines I don’t see anything that is criticizing the kids… I do think it’s a bit ridiculous to post public videos, using kids as a centerpiece, and then react this way if someone says something negative. You’re not immune from criticism when you’re posting public videos and monetizing the whole “we’re a family traveling” bit. Using kids as a shield is the behavior that isn’t normal. As someone who lives full-time in the Philippines as well, being insincere about your experience here is called pinoy baiting. You can say “oh, it’s being polite” but really you’re treating Filipinos like children. It’s almost 100% self-serving and it gives foreigners a skewed perception of what the Philippines is like. Lots of money in this though, so you’ll personally benefit from it, as it seems you are.

List of Filipino desserts on video, just for reference for those viewers not familiar: @23:38 regional version Halo-Halo, Zamboanga's style w/no shaved ice. @24:20 Sans Rival (lit. unrivaled) = frozen meringue + cashews cake. @25:06 Brazo de Mercedes = meringue w/custard filling. @25:33 Inutak = glutinous rice, coconut milk, ube halaya. @26:03 Biko Latik = sticky rice cake + coconut syrup. @26:40 Ube Halaya The restaurant (Cabel) owner's name is JC Cabel Moreno. I assume that JC stands for Juan Carlos (former king of Spain), and that's probably why his nickname is "King". His younger brother Miguel operates Palm Grill restaurant, in Quezon City. Great video!

I just want to point out that "Malacañang" is pronounced with the in the name making the /k/ sound, not with the /s/ sound. Other than that, I appreciate the effort you put in to say the names of the dishes. With some feedback, you guys will nail it slowly but surely. And boy, do I have a lot more feedback with pronunciation and stress! 😆 Also, props to Colt for nailing the pronunciation of "tiyula itum!" Actually the HaloHalo got it's name on how it should be eaten.. you have to mix it first plain and simple. HALOHALO - Mix Mix! Any other dish whatsoever is a MIX of ingredients.. and of course we don't name all these dishes as HALOHALO.

Halo-halo isn't a made-up word for this dish in Tagalog. It's an actual adjective whose synonyms are various, assorted and diverse. Halo-Halo as mix-mix is broken English.
