being a trucker, I have seen cars just stop for no reason. Jeff we are taught to use the S.M.I.T.H system. Though it works for us, the rest of the drivers could give two shits who's lifes are affected when they are in a hurry. Not sure how the game mechanics are for shifting but on an 18 speed you can split the shifts as needed, like 5L-5H-6L-6H-7L-7H-8L-8H. This is more for heavy loads or steep grades.

Hey Jeff, I have a question. I was an avid fan of the 18 Wheels of Steel games, especially the Extreme Trucker series. With that, is this game worth the $20.00? Does it surpass those games, also from SCS?

+Anthony Dryden This game is pretty much everything you could of hoped for with an updated version of the 18WOS series. However with bigger maps and more detail comes the fact that it will take much longer to make USA in it's entirety. Let's be honest when we say that 18WOS didn't have the best detail and the USA was a crammed mess. Of course this is because it was so old. I think 20 dollars is perfectly worth it especially since you get CA,NV and soon to be AZ for free with the base game. I don't mind paying for states as they come due to the amount of work that goes into making each state. There are so many little details that are truly astounding and each town has their own feel (sometimes). The game may have it's bugs with the short on ramps and ridiculous police however SCS is a great company that seems to work well with what the community wants.

Highly doubt you'll get around to answering these being a busy guy and all (and having to sift through probably 1,000s of comments a day) but I"ve got a few questions myself about ATS. 1. Does ATS require a high-spec PC to run? I currently only have a Toshiba laptop but it can run GTA IV no problem, so do you think it would work for me? 2. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being not needed and 10 being absolutely necessary) how necessary is a racing wheel in order to play this game, or enjoy it to its full potential? I REALLY like this game, but I don't think I've got $200.00+ to go throwing into a racing wheel at the moment. Do you think a keyboard would still allow me to enjoy the game until I get a racing wheel? (Any recommendations for racing wheels would also be greatly appreciated, but I'm looking towards a Logitech G27 since everybody seems to use one.) +David Zanelli 1. No you don't need a crazy pc but the better pc the better graphics you are going to get. You have advanced settings as well as simple in the game. It will usually try to set it according to your PC from the get go. 2. I would say a solid 8 as it really brings the feeling of driving, I know wheels can be expensive but people with controllers (X360, etc) have really enjoyed the game with those. The G27 is no longer made and has sky rocketed in price, the G29 has replaced it but is a hefty 400 bucks. I would cruise the steam discussions on what wheels work with ATS as I have no clue on their compatibility. I highly recommend one though later down the road.

You generally shift LL, LH, 1L, 1H, and so on. unless it's a light load you load you wouldn't do all high. You've got range and a splitter. Would be worth you tubing it, it's rather interesting. As for the RTO transmission, that's just the model of Eaton Fuller transmission. Should just be labeled Eaton Fuller, but they did the model number.

The lyrics are one thing, but you can't deny that the autotune is a form of art much like video. It's all computer driven. Edited live is a much more complicated thing. I'm not a huge fan of Kanye, but I think the autotune is a really fascinating twist on audio performances.

+jeff favignano i don't know how the game works as I've not played but here is a tid bit of possible helpful info..you can google this but your rtfo those numbers that follow actually sync up ţo the rtfo which based off of model number tells you if it is a high torque or low torque trans and basically everything in reference to what transmission you have but lets go typical. your normal (i.e. 99%) of your 13 speeds will shift in sequence like so (lo,2,3,4,5,6lo,6hi,7lo,7hi,8lo,8hi,9lo,9hi) which reads is as (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,and finally 13th) a 18 speed is as follows (1lo,1hi,2lo,2hi,3lo,3hi,4lo,4hi,5lo,5hi,6lo,6hi,7lo,7hi,8lo,8hi,9lo,9hi) and again 1-18 driving a real truck we dont split all gears only time we do is when we need them to keep the r's matched up with the speed and not under powering it. dunno how the game is but figured id throw that all in there maybe it helps ya learn more of the trucks/industry..great episode and congrats on your billboard

+Brenton Wilde depends on the exact conditions and if you have it perfectly aligned with the trailer you can get away with it. However the CDL book I read said that it can cause the wheels to lock up on a slippery surface. I wouldn't want that.

hey Jeff you don't have letters on your signs. I have a fix for it. I'm assuming you are using nvidia inspector and the AA messes up the letters but I fixed it
