This was super helpful thanks! Does take a bit of trial and error like you said, thankfully I put everything into layers so I can easily adjust later. Just throwing a couple of other free photo editors you can use. I use a combination of Krita and GIMP, both free Open Source software if you're like me and do editing for a hobby and dont want to pay photoshop prices. I use those two for pretty much all my mods for other games.

That’s the alt uv setting in modsstudio 2. Do the opposite of whatever you have it as and export your skin. That should fix the problem

Most likely when You flattened your layers into the final export file some layers may have been left in the project unpainted or changed. I had the same issue. Unfinished parts of the truck made it into my mod. It's all about the layers and making sure each one is colored exactly the way you want it and flattening down nice and organized. Either that or maybe you didn't edit a selectable template in your game like you thought. I also did that today so I'd start with those. Hope that helps. Just double check your work if you haven't already. It happened to me.

im rewatching your tutotial and noticed in the begining you said you combined the three templates into one. how did you do that? will it still work properly when uploaded? for example, i am modding the SCOT A2HD mod truck, it has a cab skin and a hood skin. can I combine them for easier painting?

I'm trying to make a skin for the T680 day cab, but I'm having a weird issue... Whatever I do on the drivers side is just mirrored to the passenger side. Even if I only put the text on one side of the truck, it still gets mirrored to the other side. Any idea what's going on?

Check your Alt UV setting in ModsStudio 2. If you have it checked try unchecking and export your skin. If it’s unchecked try checking it and exporting. Let me know what you figure out.

Check if you have alt UV checked. If you do. Uncheck it and try again or vice versa if it’s not checked.

I don’t know if there is a way to paint the glass. I haven’t seen that before. As for the fenders. If you want the fenders to be a specific color. Just paint that section of the template the color you want them to be. If you are not sure where the fenders are at in the template you might have to play around with it till you figure it out. I plan on putting a video out about the different portions of the template and identifying the fenders, bumper, grill etc. Check out my other videos that talks about doing metallic skins.

@@glitch9722 bumpers depend on whether or not its a paintable bumper. Once you create a skin and buy it in game, you will have to customize the truck and select the paint bumpers for it to show on the bumpers.

Just to be sure you are opening the correct application. It should be ModsStudio2UI.exe, try running it as admin. and if that doesnt work. You might have to install Microsoft. NET core and/or SDK. Here is the link from Mods Studio 2's website for troubleshooting www.mods.studio/tutorials/dealing-with-issues. if you are still having issues join the Discord for MS2 and explain your problem and someone will definitely be able to help you out.

I also made one for the Volvo and it was perfectly aligned. I'm using the templates from the description.

The Worst ok so the 389 needs to have Alt UV checked. The Kenworth does not. Both of those a simple truck skins. As for figuring out vertical vs horizontal flip, is based on whether you need to flip it sideways or up and down. Lots of the skinning process is trial and error. Everyone has their own way to do it.

What if the want to edit a skin you downloaded or from a skin pick from a mod truck

You kind of can edit skins that are already formatted for the game. You can extract the .dds image of the skin and open it in whatever editor you want (i use paint.net). It should open as a "Background Layer". Once you have it opened all that you can do is add layers to it but you cannot actually edit the background layer. (If it had text or something that you wanted to change, what you can do is add a layer above the mod skin with whatever text you want and then just merge. I hope that helps.

I plan on putting out a basic paint.net tutorial soon but in the meantime try using the wand tool and click the background on the image you want to use, you should see little dotted/dashed lines show up around your image, then press delete. That should delete those grid lines, now copy that layer into your stencil and the grid lines should not Show up.
