American Truck Simulator: XBox One Controller Setup Guide for Smooth Driving

Edit: Remember to use "auto-centered" setting. Also brake intensity may need to be increased to 20% with heavy load.
Recently I have bought a XBox One controller and I found that the default setting isn't that smooth. So I spent some time customizing the setting so as to resume my previous one using PS3 controller. I would like that share my finding with you. Not only that, I am sharing with you how you can make this setting your own!

Oh yes. That would be awesome. Get the head or eyes tracker too so that you can view the side mirrors by moving your head or eyes!

Everybody fails to mention that controller support was broken in one of the game updates so the game only partially supports xbox or ps4 controllers now but no matter what I do I can't get it set up right

My problem is that somehow my settings are buggy, for example when I want to fill up my Gastank it stops every second and turns the truck on again when I shut down the truck it turns the truck on again and so on.

Thanks. Both are good. ETS2 is a more matured than ATS and has a lot of contents (through DLC). ATS is getting more contents too. It really depends if you are from US or Europe. As someone from neither, I play both but prefer ATS. For some parts of ETS2 like UK and the core game, the maps need an update as they feel dated. But ETS2 DLC are great.

Just that it is not that easy for me to purchase it in my part of the world (Singapore in Southeast Asia). By the way, do you know if they are going to release a newer version any time soon? An improved Steam controller?

The Steam site is really good, if you haven't checked it out you should. Lots of games on sale and discounted. You can also vote on games to be "greenlighted", so they appear on Stream. I'm hooked on two new games, Subsistence and My Summer Car both are under $15 US. The Subsistence developer is independent and devoted to developing a really great game... very difficult survival game. Not sure about a newer/improved version of the controller, perhaps a firmware update. I'll check the forums and new via Steam and see. I pulled out an old PS3 controller this morning and will set it up for ATS. I'm not that advanced where I can manually shift gears, still getting a feel for the game and to know where everything is and where to look... dang gum cops are everywhere... always paying speeding fines. :-)

They'll tell you in the tags of the game if a controller works or not. The Steam controller is set up for the their "big window' mode. I use it for Witcher III Blood Hunt and I'm going to try it out on Assassins Creed III. Just sent you a HELP... I messed up setting up the PS3 controller, and can't get back to the dang dialog to click on "Ignore"...

Your game controller would need to be calibrated. Go to your Windows setting and search for it. Your situation should improve once the calibration is done.

When I'm driving a truck and the curve isn't sharp it's hard not to drift in the other lane. Are my settings wrong?

You should not drift to other lane. Have you tried to calibrate your controller using Windows?

When I calibrate and I don't even touch the circle pad on the left it shows it's off to the side instead of in the middle.

After you have calibrated once, the next time you calibrate, it should stay in the middle though. Otherwise you may have a faulty controller.

Are you experiencing drifting? Assuming that you have setup the game like I do in this video, you may need to calibrate your controller.
