Thank you Koala for volunteering with the SAF but I'm not sure that I agree on your comments that you did "all the things that the NS people would do". Your induction course is a 2-weeks stay-in training. Mine was over 52 weeks long. You enjoyed your training while some from my units self-terminated. I suspect it took MINDEF a year to get back to you partly because of overseas background checks. A locally-born female applicant would get a response way faster.

It's not even a real country. It's sort of a Walt Disney park, a bigger park than usual, of course. Singapore, Luxembourg, San Marino, the AUE, Qatar, etc. these are artificially created Athens-like city-states, from some eclectic congregations of very rich individuals and corporations.... most don't produce any thing on their own; and all of them depend on the sweats, tears, and suffering of extremely EXPLOITED FOREIGN workers ("guest workers") to baby sit their kids, to cook for them, to wipe their elderly's butts, to build for them, etc. Real countries are the messy, big ones that may STRUGGLE on many fronts but which are able to grow most or all of their own foods, produce their own teachers, plumbers, doctors, engineers, etc... real countries --- as opposed to Disneyland types of big theme parks ---- are those able to build big & small factories & companies, able to invent technologies & construct or manufacture computers, chips, missiles & cars & planes & satellites, etc.

Where did Miss Koala grow up? Where does an American learn to speak with a sort of Singlish accent?
@Hllee64288 ай бұрын
I doubt her accent is due to Singlish influence but rather the accent she grew up with in America among her immigrant family/neighbourhood (the ethnicity of which she prefers to keep private, I guess). I can see why she likes Singapore which is often misunderstood as a non-English speaking country just because they do not have typical Western sounding "native" accents ...just like herself.. I suppose it makes her English sound less "pidgin" in comparison. (I mean she has even made "comedies" about Singlish in other videos).

These volunteers will be called up for training and deployment to typically serve up to 14 days in a year. But bro, your edits of B-roll to actual NS-enlistees is so misleading! Volunteers have Basic Training (Continuous - two weeks), Qualification Training (up to two weeks), Advanced Training (up to two weeks)- that is six weeks! bikes here costs as much as cars in other countries
@qw00480028 ай бұрын
And they should keep it that way. Cars are not supposed to be priced like they are in other countries. The real costs of the cars are way beyond what they charge; it's more road maintenance, carbon emissions, destruction of cohesive communities, time wasted in traffic, and toll on mental health.

She is wearing a beautifully embroidered yellow dress of cotton comfortable material. This dress could only be bought at the place she visited. You can't buy it at any shopping center around the world, not branded, but beautiful. You'll appreciate its uniqueness and beauty. People who have sharp eyes like the top fashion designers or the managers of the garment factories, chief merchandisers or purchasing managers will notice its beauty. Wealthy women love this type of dresses with laced outline. She resembles Sally Yeh, faithful wife of George Lam, a good woman who appreciated George Lam's help. Why are you still waiting?

It would also be nice if they would interview "itchyboots" (Her name is Noraly) another amazing solo world traveler that rides her bike everywhere or perhaps "Eva zu Beck" with her overlanding around the world too. 😊

Several billionaires and many millionaires choose to live in Singapore for good. However, the property prices in Singapore are high. Singapore isn't suitable for people who love nature or enjoying living in the mountains 24/7 staring at seas all year round. Lives are priceless and invaluable; thus, a good quality medical healthcare and a hygienic environment are priorities of most wealthy people. Singapore is an extremely hot and humid city, summer for 365 days a year. Singapore is a melting pot of many different people and cultures from all over the world. Literally, Singapore has people from 190 countries living or working here. Renting a bedroom or an apartment in Singapore is high, including HDB. Fortunately, the public transport, MRT & Buses, are affordable for many. One can have an affordable breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper at the hawker centers or coffee shops. Singapore is suitable for people who love the city life. The reliable public transport system covers 90% of Singapore and the taxi fare is also affordable. Just get married to a Singaporean man will get you a PR, have baby, to get the Singapore passport.

Same sentiments, Singapore is the perfect place for people who have very high levels of discipline, good moral compass, have high desire to keep fit, value safety alot and generally everyday hungry.

National Service helps to shape young men to be better men during formative years before adulthood. It is impossible to shape each and every young man. However, to be able to achieve 90% is considered a success, harmony, peace, prosperity and tranquility for all of us here and all around us. Our forefathers made a wise decision.

Singapore should not give PR to anyone cause our population became over crowded . In the 1980's was slightly over 2 million now it is ridiculous numbers. We need to look after our own people before we give out PR's and citizenships to anyone. Our standard of living become so high that we are competing homes and jobs with foreigners. No offense to people who had migrated into Singapore but it is how we feel as a Singaporean. Enough is enough.

Unfortunately...we're also the by-product of our success and efficiency. Singaporeans ( most ) tend to judge and compare other countries with Singapore. We complain a lot about others and expect everyone and everywhere to be as efficient as Singapore. Singaporeans are blessed, but we need to reflect ( more) on the true meaning of LIVING ( with the rest of the World ). The government can help by pushing out more campaigns like BE KIND, CONSIDERATE and PATIENT, etc. We need to get out from the " I, ME and MYSELF " mentality.

singapore is a very clean, modern n efficient country. malaysia is a few levels below that. the people in sg tend to be higher functioning n competitive while malaysians are a bit laid back. the govt is corrupt n the law is not enforced as strictly as sg personally I still prefer living in malaysia bcs you can find everything here for a cheaper price than most developed countries incl sg. also its slower paced n quite underrated. the corrupt govt doesn’t really interfere w my day to day life n I get to break their laws without getting slapped w huge fines. but if you are ambitious n value safety, ethics n you are okay w strict rules, you should live in sg

NS 1971 - 1974, trained with faulty frequent jammed AR15 from felled GI in Vietnam War, Ceylon rice with rats' heads, limbs and tails, in forested and jungled heavy commandos' mosquitoes caused very sharp pain on you, filtered dirty drinking water from rivers, illogical insane punishment from CSM or RSM burnt your weekends, missed your girlfriends or your parents. Cooks used dirty smelly socks to filter coffee or tea for SGT, CSM, RSM, Officer who burnt the weekends of cooks. The foods tasted bad. We were not so well educated like our parents, suffered in silence. NS boys were majority pai kia, ah beng or ah huat, thugs, uncouth, frequent fist fights to resolve dispute, made us tough badass today, strong immune systems to withstand most kind of food. It's a blessing after all the years of torture in NS of 1971
