Recipe:
Boil the chicken with: Shred after it's cook
Onion
Garlic
Lemon grass
Saute with:
Onions
Garlic
Soy sauce
Oyster sauce (add sugar or salt to adjust taste)
Turmeric powder
Black pepper
Vinegar
Bay leaves
Cook until sauce is dry.

I'm glad they liked it. 💕 I've commented this from other vid but I'd like to share it too here for those who don't know and want to learn something about pastil. Pastil is a food for traveller, it's a survival food. Original pastil is dry. The "kagikit" or the meat must be dry so that it can last for days and avoid early spoiling. The oil also helps in preserving it. Aside from chicken, you can also use fish (preferably a left over grilled carp, there's alot of it in Maquindanao). It's simple because it’s a food for survival. The people of Maquindanao (which live almost everywhere in mindanao prior to invasion and prior to division of provinces) share it to people, and the Mujahideen or the muslim fighters had pastil with them during war which caused the spread of the recipe leading to others making their own version (some made theirs spicy, moist, others even used flavored and colored rice, with added toppings and others). Nowadays, Maguindanaons serve it in many ways, could they be using kagikit or a whole small part of chicken, chicken liver and heart. Just keep it Halal. Others call it "patil" and if other tribes call it differently, it's because of their distinct accent which pronounce R more than L.
