I'm sorry, but I don't care who doesn't like him, or disagrees with him, but he, hands down, made every second of this talk and most talks that he gives entertaining. There are many scientists out there, and reputable scientist who give lectures in their respective fields, but they don't capture the ears of those who are less literate scientifically like Neil does. I believe it's because of his delivery which is filled with passion, and if it's all an act like some people say, it's a good act, and worthy of many listening ears. I like Krauss also, and Filipenko and Michio kakchio.

Two points on that Rajit Roy - there are lots and lots of broadly defined scientists, not everybody in science is going to be on Feynman level. - communicating science to a broad widely unscientific public is as important as ever. This cannot be stressed enough - we need to inspire young people to go into STEM and to general public to be at least more aware of how science operates and what is going on (because general public can then push on the government, and young inspired people may be part of it later). This Tyson is trying to do with his charisma and intelligence, and it is as important as any research.

In all my school years the things i learned about Newton, light, gravity, electromagnetism, matter, antimatter suddenly makes so much more sense when he describes it, it all falls in a row showing that these are all connected by the laws of physics. @@pedroakjr2371 WHAT IS THE EXPLANATION OF SPACE AND TIME ON BALANCE: Invisible AND VISIBLE SPACE in fundamental equilibrium AND BALANCE. This necessarily and clearly involves interaction, on balance. Consider what is the eye (on balance). Logically consider what is a two dimensional surface OR SPACE ON BALANCE !!!! Notice the associated DOME AND black “space” of what is the eye as well. Really think about it all. Consider WHAT IS THE SUN ON BALANCE. (NOW, think about time.) Outer “space” involves full inertia, AND it is fully invisible AND black. Consider one and three dimensions ON BALANCE !!! Now, consider what is the fourth dimension and the term c4 from Einstein's field equations. Think about ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy AND think about gravity (ON/IN BALANCE). Consider what is the man (AND THE EYE ON BALANCE) who IS actually standing ON what is THE EARTH/ground (ON BALANCE) !! Think about TIME !! Think about why there is something instead of nothing ON BALANCE. Consider that time is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE. Think about the man (THE EYE) that actually IS IN what is outer “space”. Think about time. The stars AND PLANETS are POINTS in the night sky ON BALANCE, and consider what is the speed of light (c) ON BALANCE. NOW, consider what is THE SUN. Think closely about everything in this writing. @@joeshmoe6908 Heat is electromagnetic waves in the infrared wavelength. Light is also electromagnetic waves but in the wavelengths that our eyes can detect. If black holes have such a strong gravitational force, that even light can't escape, that means that infrared waves can't escape either.

@Bronwin - You may not be able to see a black hole but matter spinning around a black hole in the accretion disk gets incredibly hot due to friction, and that creates radiation that can be observed. So while you may not be able to actually observe the black hole itself you will be able to observe where the black hole resides.

Elon Musk does applied physics. He invents, makes things, builds factories, creates jobs. All Tyson does is collect a salary for standing up and regurgitates theoretical cosmology. NONE of which is proved. Such as, believing that comets are dirty snowballs but when they did applied physics and sent spacecraft to comets, they found out that they were rocky bodies, except that they discharged plasma as they got near the Sun.
