You are absolutely right about the mechanical bridge not my favorite. But on longer tables you do have situations where you need to use it. I was face with a shot were I needed to use it an really didn't know how to properly use it which costed me my match. Thanks for the video

Hello Jeanette. loved the video. I personally Already bridge exactly the way you showed plus it's always the way I teach people. Yes so important on the slow back swing. My question or observation is you didn't explain well enough how to change your hand, arm position when you use the mechanical bridge. although you did it correctly.

this is fine and dandy if you're able to use both hands. what about you only have use of one arm?

this happened to me when i was a teenager. destroyed my non-dominant elbow. what i starting doing was finding the center of balance of the cue -- seeing where the cue could balance on one or two fingers. then holding the cue there with my dominant hand and not using a bridge. it doesn't work for all shots because of certain limitations given the size of the table. but with practice it works surprisingly well.

One guy I know literally just aims and shoots with one hand. He’s gotten pretty good at it too!
