You were on point with the message of the video. Part of Ateez's lore is that they are fighting a government that has banned any form of expression like songs, art etc.

No way, how exciting!!!! 😅🤌 .... This is one of the groups that introduced me to k/pop. I SUPER recommend their dance practices as well. This group taught me more about musicality and acting in dance performance. San, seonghwa, and leader hongjoon are known within the industry as the "demon line" because if you watch their faces and how hard they move while they dance it's like they're possessed. 💖

They were awesome in concert, crazy energy. This song was sooo great live! And with atiny (fans) Shouting "break that wall!" So amazing. Jongho's voice is so powerful live that I actually had to partially cover my ears, he doesn't need a mic at all lol 😂 And the George Orwell ref fits. 💜

Yep yep their story is very much an Orwellian dystopia. The world believes emotion and art etc leads to dysfunction. So they break in to show music etc. that’s like the very very bare bones of their world. (Time travel and alter personalities and parallel universes) very fun if you do get into their MV story line

I saw ATEEZ twice this year and that ending of Guerrilla had me loose my voice. Their energy is insane and something everyone should witness one day! I definitively recommend Halazia or Fireworks next! And then on the 16th of June their new single BOUNCY 🎉 The trailers they have dropped so far for their new upcoming album have been insanely good and give off Tarantino/Spaghetti Western Vibes. They even have a song called Django, so we are very excited to see what it’s going to be like. But one thing is clear, no one does concept and lore like our Boys!

ATEEZ is forever experimenting with their music. Rock, pop, metal, edm, r&b..it’s all there. They’re kings of the anti-drop which is prevalent in their song Halazia. Highly, highly recommend you check that track out next. They use backtracks during concerts but their vocals are 100% live. Their choreography is next level. You were on point with the 1984 reference. Their group has an entire lore and back story. In this video they are indeed in a dystopian world. It’s a world where the people have been devoid of emotions and all things creative. ATEEZ are there to “wake up” the people.

I saw that it's your first ATEEZ reaction, so I had to watch and comment. ATEEZ was my gateway group. I'd heard some stuff by other people, but they were the ones who yanked me in and wouldn't let go. This is going to be long. Hopefully you don't mind, but if it's tl;dr then I get it. Before jumping into anything else... June 16th is comeback day for ATEEZ and they've dropped teasers galore. You should definitely check them out, especially if you're more interested in just jumping into the music styles you're most likely to appreciate rather than exploring their discography as a whole. They're all good vocalists, excellent dancers, and most of them can rap even if we don't typically hear them doing it (a few have shown it on variety shows or radio interviews). If you're interested in learning more about who our guys are and their origin as a group, I recommend "The Ultimate Guide to ATEEZ | 2023" by 'ofallthekennys'. I have attempted to link this guide before but those comments always go poof, so I've decided just to give the exact title now and make it an easy search. This is a LONG guide, but it's so very worth it if you're willing to watch (even if you don't want to post a reaction) because it covers them so well and makes it so clear that destiny had an obvious hand in bringing them together as a group. --- I'm not a loreTINY (ATINY who studies the lore heavily) but I love ATEEZ and am quite interested in their lore, so I'll do my best here... --- Basic stuff before diving into the MV: + Universe A is home to ATEEZ (basically our dimension). + Universe Z is home to HALATEEZ (counterparts to ATEEZ; often shown in black, usually with hats and/or masks). + Cromer is a device that can allow travel between the universes/dimensions (and possibly time?). It looks like an hourglass and is affected by moon phase. + There are many references to a Möbius strip in their lyrics. + Universe Z has a dystopian society called Strictland. The government there has outlawed all expressions of human emotion (art, dance, music). + Several trailers give a lot of insight into what's happening in this MV: --"07.29 WAKE UP, THE WORLD" --"ATEEZ (에이티즈) THE WORLD EP.1 : MOVEMENT Official Trailer 1" -- "ATEEZ (에이티즈) THE WORLD EP.1 : MOVEMENT Official Trailer 2" -- "ATEEZ (에이티즈) - 'Guerilla' Official MV Teaser 1" -- "ATEEZ (에이티즈) - 'Guerilla' Official MV Teaser 1" + If you choose not to watch the previews, a quick not-full breakdown is: -- Prestige Academy brainwashes the kids to believe the government has their best interests at heart, that decisions made are what the people want and the people should not doubt or question, etc. -- "Left Eye" (old guy in the scene after the MV ends) says they have to break the system so the people can choose whether to stay oppressed or break free, but that it must be their own choice (i.e., you can't break them out and force them to walk away, you can just make a way for them to leave on their own). -- The guys covertly infiltrate specific parts of the government machine to help bring it down (including using masks as camouflage). --- So now, in this MV: The first thing that popped out at me was the zeppelins, and how they are very present with a menacing kind of "I'm always watching you" feeling. The speaker is one of many located throughout Strictland; we hear it broadcasting "There is a disease in the heart of man. The disease is human emotion." After Captain Hongjoong rips off his mask disguise and runs off, the broadcast is very different... this clues us in that they've taken over the radio station. HJ's rap at the beginning is shown on the school monitor, so we know they've also taken over the school broadcast system. During Jongho's more rock-style vocals, there is a marked zeppelin that starts dropping their own posters, so we know they've successfully infiltrated that as well. I love the whole vibe when they're in the broadcast studio room. Mingi's rap is awesome, complete with the upside-down part (the behind the scene on how he managed that is cool to watch). I LOVE the slow-motion scene with the flags, just wow on that imagery. The stylized city bg with 'GUERRILLA' on the buildings is purposefully imitating old-school wartime propaganda images. At the very end, Left Eye and the guys notice something on the security monitor, so they jump up to get a closer look and see a Prestige Academy student walking through the gate (it's not made clear here whether the kid is leaving the school or entering the junkyard that Left Eye runs, which is where they're gathered). We are left knowing that at least one person has chosen to break free and see what's beyond what they have known. --- Who is Who (in this MV): + Hongjoong is our Captain (not "leader" because they're pirates). He's the higher-voiced, and is shown removing his mask at the beginning). + Yunho is shown in the phone booth, and later sitting in the monitoring studio. + Yeosang is our hacker in the van, wearing his headset. + Seonghwa is in the elevator with the motorcycle. + San closes the bag on the camera, and later is running like crazy. He also shows up on the monitors behind Yunho. + Jongho takes high notes here, and we see him up close by the speaker tower. + Wooyoung says "Make a move" and bites his finger like a grenade pin. He also takes off a mask in a control room. + Mingi is our lower-voiced rapper. --- ATEEZ does not have a bad song. They're not all the same "flavor", because they just don't have a set "sound". You might not like every song, but I say they're all worth at least 2 listens because I've found that the ones I didn't like at first have grown on me after I give them another chance (but honestly I think there's only been like 3 songs I didn't like right away). Their catalog is incredibly diverse and you'll find songs containing several genres all packed into a few minutes. B-sides are just as amazing as the title and companion tracks. Everything they do contains their whole heart, and we can tell. Dance Practice videos are a great way to see full choreo, and they go crazy hard in them as if it was an MV or live performance. Live performances are insane. There's a massive storyline with deep lore, but you don't have to know a bunch of it to enjoy the MVs and stage concepts... it's just helpful if you want to follow what's going on deeper than enjoyment. Their lore is very much woven into the MVs and live stages, even on shows like Kingdom: Legendary War (all of their regular group stages were lore-driven there, including hints to future stuff). Some MVs have a bit at the end giving a song teaser and/or visuals that align with the lore. It's basically KQ giving clues. I don't tend to suggest songs because I can't ever decide on a favorite, and I'm always a fan of people starting at the beginning and seeing from the start how they've grown and changed (I'm a newer Kpop fan, and I wish I'd experienced these guys from the start but instead just dove into a rabbit hole headfirst and grabbed at everything that passed me, lol). Anyway, if you decide to go to their beginning, I highly suggest doing their KQ Fellaz dance videos first (from pre-debut), and then moving on to 'Pirate King' and 'Treasure' (the MVs from their debut album). B-side reactions are always great, in my opinion, but I know it's a lot and always down to what you want to jump into. I'll definitely keep watching for more ATEEZ reactions, though.

I highly suggest that when you are reacting to famous KPOP groups, it would be much more of a good experience for the fans of these groups if you refrained from getting wasted! Drugs are not tolerated in Korea. It is just a matter of showing some respect to the artists and their fan base. You ask at the beginning of your reaction why people don’t think you are their favourite reactors, this is MY reason. You are also missing key points in the video because you are getting wasted
