IMO, of the MANY great America-themed moments in sports history, the USA defeating the mighty Soviet Union Read Army team in the 1980 Olympics was (and still is) THE most iconic, emotional win of them all. All these years later, watching Mike Eruzione's goal and the pure pride and passion when the final horn sounded was unlike anything I (and MANY other Americans) have seen to date. Still gets me emotional when watching the last minutes of the game.

The Rangers. I’m an Astros fan and in the early 2000’s, all of games watched on TV had Barbara Bush sitting behind home plate. No ownership of the Astros, just huge fans and it was always a bit jarring to see the former First Lady every pitch view. Regardless of politics, the Bush’s are a baseball loving family.

Here is a bit of trivia for you on Women's soccer in the US (or football as you call it) : Until the 1970s, organized women's soccer matches in the U.S. existed only on a limited basis. The U.S. is now regarded as one of the top countries in the world for women's soccer, and FIFA ranked its national team #1 in the world after its back-to-back Women's World Cup victory in 2015 and 2019. The average salary for a professional woman soccer player is: $35,000. Most however because it is seasonal do work other jobs part-time. So they don't make that much either....but also, the average attendance at a women's pro soccer game is about 12,000...so not bad and it's growing. Love you guys!!

It's actually not illegal to burn the US flag. While a despicable act when used in protest (a ceremonial burning is often done for worn or damaged flags), it's protected by the First Amendment. Though there's a history of arresting people for doing it in the past, it' a very contentious issue in the Supreme Court. If what those two protestors did at that field happened today, they'd assuredly get in trouble for trespassing, but I highly doubt there would be any charges for trying to burn the flag. Personally, I don't think it should be illegal... I love my flag to death, everything it stands for, and I am sickened when protestors and politicians alike have desecrated it. But one's dedication to free speech isn't truly tested until someone says something you really find despicable. If someone purposefully damages the flag, that action says everything I need to know about them. I'm all for a good public shaming in cases like this.

It made the news here in 🇺🇸when Prince William did not go to see the 🇬🇧woman’s team because some BS rule that the King had not visited that country yet but the Queen of Spain did show up and they won. In Paris, notice that the 1st Gentleman of the 🇺🇸, the Congressional delegation and many “stars” were there to support - and we won!! Support has to start from the top

It's not jail time to burn a flag. Burning a flag is offensive to many people but is considered an expression of free (symbolic political) speech and has been ruled so by the Supreme Court in 1989 (which has since struck down all state laws against burning a flag. The ruling is considered a super-precedent having been upheld in multiple cases. The fact that it is offensive to many is evidence of its power as a expression of speech. (I am not condoning it). After all, what good is having free speech for speech that is only inoffensive to the majority? Similarly, people can parade around with the "Confederate" flag and post it on their private property--cars, homes, etc. and that is a flag of traitorous rebellion and the symbol for the attempt to destroy the United States in order to maintain the enslavement of other human beings. So displaying, waving, etc. that flag, which is as odious to many as burning our flag, is also considered and expression of free (symbolic political) speech--again, what good is free speech if it can only be speech that is inoffensive to the majority (or even a vocal minority)?

I don't fly a flag other than on Veteran's day. That is respect, not what the coal rolling smoking pick up trucks are doing that is disrespect. I am proud to be a U.S. citizens (notice I did not say American, that is kind of an offence to our Northern American Canadians and Southern American relatives, we are in the middle and don't own America). I was worried you picked a bad video but I was wrong, that was pretty real. I was worried you had a bunch of coal rolling trucks and call this the US and it is absolutely not. I love my country and my dad served in Vietnam, yet we only own one flag and my dad only flew it on Veteran's day. He died just over a year ago from complications from his time spent in Vietnam, so I have not flow it since. I just can't right now. He got drafted (mandatory enlistment, he was 20 years old) to the American Army and he fought, but it ended up taking him. The U.S.A is huge and the whole flag thing is pretty stupid to the rest of us and also my family, resect the flag don't abuse it.

Here's a truly patriotic moment in sports. Muhammad Ali refuses to serve in the Vietnam war and is forced to surrender his heavyweight title. He's soon banned from boxing and threatened with imprisonment. Remaining true to his religious beliefs, Ali refuses to kill another human being. Most of America despised Ali at this time, he was subjected to r@cist threats and abuse. His steadfast anti-war position reshaped US history and now nearly everyone admits that the position he took was correct. Watch the vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWbGhZqcnrGNrtE
