The idea that those civilasations were more advanced than ours is interesting considering their entire infraastructures are almost always naturally sourced where as "modern" societies almost exclusively work with composities. Personally I think what we actually saw was "messengers" of civilisations spreading the word of shapes and forms to other cultures and so similar buildings around the world were formed, centred around the religion and cultures of the people in those locations. Boats were a thing back then, the aliens theory is indeed interesting and the visiting flying being can not be ignored for sure but we all have modern religions with gods form the sky. It is not that unheard of to think we moved mountains by sheer human force.

Well, without the knowledge of modern architectural techniques and tools, the only way to build tall structures is in a pyramid fashion. The foot print of each upper level has to be smaller so that the structure is stable. It’s not a surprise that humans independently thought of it.

You might find this interesting. Look into orgone generators, or organite. It's a concept of using material, including crystal, usually shaped like a pyramid, that transmutes negative energy into positive energy.
