For the first time since KZbin's inception, a female Korean/K-pop artist, ROSÉ, holds the title for the most-viewed music video of the year with "APT." 2024

ROSÉ & Bruno Mars “APT.” is now eligible for 2x platinum in the US for selling 2 million units in the country. It’s the fastest song by a female K-pop act in history to do so and first ever by a K-pop female soloist.

Why do you keep downplaying Blackpink popularity in the US?

Right! They don’t need the west validation lol 😂They’re literally BLACKPINK

Tori, Rosé is a Swiftie too! Rosé gave a rare glimpse into her encounter with Taylor Swift. The singer spoke to i-D magazine about the mentorship Swift offered when Rosé saw her last September at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Rosé had been working on solo music. “I told her I’m such a huge fan, and I just had some questions,” the K-pop artist said of running into Swift. “As soon as she met me, she’s like ‘Spill, let me help you out.’ She gave me her experiences and was so ready to help me. She gave me her number and she’s like, ‘Let me know if you have any questions.’ Who does that? Like, you’re Taylor Swift!” “I’m really grateful for her because I was at a moment where I was drowning a little,” Rosé added. “She is literally the coolest, and she’s such a girl’s girl. She was telling me-make sure to take care of this, this, and this-like, logistics. She was trying to protect me. Me becoming solo, being independent, it’s not an easy thing. There are a lot of things I should be careful with, and she gave me a rundown on all the things I have to look out for. That was the coolest part-she’s killed it in the game, and she was kind enough to walk me through.”

People need to understand just because you live under the rock doesn't mean everyone is. Blackpink literally gets advertised in the New York square time billboards. They are huge in US and don't forget they have the most viewed artist channel and most subscribed artist channel in the entire world and they are the most Streamed GG ever on Spotify.

You keep acting like Blackpink is popular in the US just because you didn't know them. Rosé is getting major radio play in the US now, they been on the late night shows as group and many as soloist, they've been to Coachella twice once as a headliner. They've had sold out stadium shows for example they sold out MetLife stadium in back to back shows. Just because you haven't heard of something doesn't mean they are not popular in the US. Time Magaizien's Entertainer of the Year 2022. eh who am I kidding you've already proved you don't read the comments.

Opp, you can even see each one of the members charted so well and always on the top 10 billboards charts. You always doubt their popularity just because you didn't know them.

Guys, u should try to react to their music videos and no music videos (b-sides) and their songs out of the group, they're also soloist. Also to the guides if you haven't (the guide from 2023). You could also react to their own shows like "Blackpink house". The thing is that video reactors like you don't really watch their videos, they usually watch their music videos and their own shows. But you're doing great. Your reactions are really worth to watch and I think more people should watch them, so maybe If you focus for a while in watching their music videos that'll reflect on your views. Sorry if you have already reacted to some of the things I mentioned, I'm kind of a new subscriber.

I think that you don't really see the same kind of animosity and "bad vibes" in K-Pop groups, as opposed to Western artists because they are trained as a team. In the U.S. we hire separate singers at an audition and put them together. Each member has their own priorities and, as we've all seen, attitude. There's no such thing as "ego" in a K-Pop group. BLACKPINK's four members each auditioned a different times, over a period of two years. The four members were 14-16 years old. They lived in the dorms, located in the basement of the company building, until they debuted. They trained 14 hours a day, (12 PM - 2 AM), seven days a week, one Sunday off every two weeks. Every month they were tested, they had to perform multiple songs and dances that they created on their own for the CEO and the company managers. They trained this way for six years until they debuted. By this time they were like sisters and their skills were honed to a point. Their debut broke the record for the fastest that a new artist reached number one in the charts and they've just gotten bigger every year. I've seen them live five times so far. Twice at the Prudential Center, twice at the MetLife Stadium, then the following week at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas! Every concert was great, they're so sweet and down to earth.
