the dabke is a tribal dance done in the levant to celebrate victory in battle, it then became popular to perform in weddings and celebrations, the person at the front is the leader and its basically whoever is surer of their moves
@drmg7352 жыл бұрын
Wasn’t it created because people were trying to solidify the muddy ground their homes were built on but they started to use drums and do it together to make it fun

Here is a fact about those "debka" traditional dances is that those dancers are not trained together they are more like bride and groom relatives and invited friends mostly met for the first time in their life and make those crazy rythmatic group dance based on drum rythem (mejwaz). The most beautiful rated dance is when they randomly in synch together.
@whitebird546814 сағат бұрын
Interesting, but I don't see some groups that are dressed similarly, so I assume there are professional troupes for weddings and special occasions.

“Top 20 dabkes” Lol within 4-5 weddings. Lol at the title of that video. Yes you’ll see a dabke at every Lebanese wedding. It’s a bigger highlight than first dance lol Also if you want everyone to hate you, go to the front of the dabke line if you can’t dabke. You will definitely not make friends that way. 🤣
@PhoenicianBaalbek8 ай бұрын
This is not Dabke, it's stiff and aggressive, and certainly not Lebanese! They look Syrians Palestinian. Dabké is an ancient Phoenician dance. The engraving in the British Museum contains a representation of the origin of the Phoenician-Lebanese dance called Dabké. When the Dabké was first created the dance was slow and static. Lebanon is Phoenician Mediterranean, historically, culturally and geographically distinct from the rest of neighboring countries.
