I don't know how many will agree. But the food you get as prasad in temples and gurdwaras is delicious. It can never be replicated at home. You can follow the steps to a T but you it won't still taste the same. I think it is the divinity and God's blessings that make the food a prasad and tasty.

I would say it can be replicated at home, most likely by Indian Moms... But it can't be replicated by someone if you are buying from them. I think because these are made by people who are volunteering. Who just want to feed you and want nothing in return. That is maybe the reason they taste pleasantly different, even when it's simple food.

And this is just one Sikh Gurudwara (temple). There are many many such Gurudwaras and Hindu temples all over India in pretty much every city that do this kind of service. If you come to India someday you'd see. One recommendation I would give is to react to the Akshaya Patra foundation video covered by this same channel. This initiative is from a Hindu organization and they mostly feed school children on a large scale. Great reaction guys. ✌

Guyz... I haven't visited gloden temple yet. But most of the Gurdwaras / temples in India serve free food.. You don't have to be 50k1 and 50k2 to get free food.

Wonderful reaction to a very informative video! As for Indian food suggestions: For a feel of North Indian food, go for butter chicken, rajma, chickpeas or lentils with naan. North Indian food is usually rich/heavy using lot of cream, tomatoes, butter, etc. They also consume lot of paneer dishes which is a cottage cheese similar to ricotta but denser. For a feel of South Indian food which is lighter on the stomach and incorporates a lot of rice and coconut based dishes, go for masala dosa, biryani or chicken/prawn ghee roast, or if you're risk-taking then try chettinad chicken (very spicy) Popular dishes like the ones I've mentioned may vary in preparation according to your area. For an authentic Indian feel, go for a Thaali which is a platter of assorted savory and sweet dishes with rice and flatbreads To satisfy your sweet tooth, try these Indian sweets: Rasgulla, Jalebi, Ras malai, Carrot halwa, Rice pudding (called kheer in Hindi) Hope this long post helps a tiny bit. Oh yes, I forgot appetizers! Some good small plates are chaat (they are savoury+sour in taste, if you're not too fond of spicy stuff there are plain yogurt based chaats as well) pani puri (puffed crisps filled with sweet and spicy water) pav bhaji (buttered buns similar to Brioche served with a potato+peas gravy) samosas (you get these in vegetarian and non vegetarian options) Masala papad (fried/roasted tortilla-like dish topped with onions, tomatoes, and spices) Egg bhurji (Indian scrambled eggs)

There are many gurdwaras in America, Dubai, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, almost every country in the world and all gurdwaras serve free meals to everyone. Many homeless people are surviving by eating there. There is even a video on KZbin where the police department in USA cities, maybe not believing about it and thinking that there is an ulterior motive behind serving free food in the USA?, volunteered to serve in the free lunch and they were pleasantly surprised that there is no other motive except to help people with free food. This happened during the beginning of the covid pandemic and was a blessing for many homeless people in the USA.
