Story behind this diss track is that they were cool. Chip made a tune called Waze where everybody thought he was sending indirect shots at stormzy. Stormzy sent some indirect shots back on a track called “I dunno”. Somewhere in between all of this, stormzy and his goons pulled up to chips house in his lambo truck to get busy. This incident was recorded and leaked by chips team a few months later and then chip released this diss track shortly after while promoting his new mixtape

You were correct to note the significance of the Shell gas station. But its a play on the word 'shell' which means to shoot (bullet shells) hence "shelling" or shots fired. At the end he references a track "Shellington Crescent" which kinda showcases that play on word.
