Jollibee is the most popular fast food chain in The Philippines. When I was living in The Philippines for 4 months, I would see Jollibee restaurants almost everywhere. From Manila and Cebu down to Bohol and Palawan, Jollibee is virtually everywhere in The Philippines.
Now that I can't travel to The Philippines at the moment, I wanted to try Jollibee here in San Diego, California. So, I invited a few local friends to lunch at Jollibee in National City.
There are so many amazing places to eat in San Diego, California and I can't wait to share more with you all on this channel.

I remember hearing a story or a news before, they said that in the 80's, every time McDonald's opens a franchise in any Asian country, it will kill any local big fast food chain in that Asian country. Except in the Philippines, where Jollibee was able to compete with them and even bettered them. And that's why Jollibee is legendary and well loved in the Philippines.

Burger is North America food. Well Germany. You will be bern your cajones eating burgers in the jungle. That is why Jollibee sells fried chicken mainly. Which is Southern US cuisine. The corporate people have to understand you can't sell every food everywhere. Like Jolibee is going to try break into the US in the north. And they are going to fail. They should sell to the South.

When we went to New York and have Jollibee for dinner and it's my American husband first time to eat the Jollibee spaghetti his reaction is priceless he wasn't expecting the sweet taste of it but ended up liking it...he loves the chicken and the gravy too... he is okay with palabok as well. Now that there's a new Jollibee branch here in Maryland we are so happy!!!❤❤❤

I can still remember vividly those days. I was 5-6 years old, when I had to pretend sick in front of my mom (Not my Dad, he doesn't buy any of my dramas though ) so she will get me some; Chicken Joy, Yum burger , Jolly hot dog, fries and of course their collectible toys. Now, that I am walking toward 30's, I do still Love and will be forever grateful for Jollibee. Every bite were a small fragments of my childhood memories knocked together. As a Filipino that lives in California I have to drive 1 hour just to get Jollibee. The taste is pretty close from what I used to eat in Jollibee, Philippines. I'm glad they have spag, palabok, chicken with rice though which are my favorites.

In the Philippines, Jollibee is famous for being a venue for children's birthday party. The crew members host the party with plenty of games. They also provide cake and the party will never be complete without a dance performance by the mascots. It is truly an enjoyable and fun experience for children.

My faves are the Amazing aloha burger and Pansit Palabok, and I'm glad you liked them.. I'd suggest you try fries dipped in chocolate sundae, yum for me! And you're right about the spaghetti.. Its signature sweet taste is what Filipino kids, and many adults as well, love about it 😊

Filipino adults almost never order the spaghetti, cause it caters to the kids’ taste buds, we order the Palabok(the Filipino version of Pad Thai). I agree the Aloha burger is their best item, second is the chicken joy. Something about combining fresh fruit with oily beef patty takes it to another level.

Spaghetti is the Filipinos' favorite. There is no occasion without an spaghetti, i.e. birthdays, fiestas, anniversaries, Christmas, holy week, all holidays, anniversaries, wedding, graduation, wakes, funerals, first communion, etc., you name it! Filipino style spaghetti is sweet and always with hotdog, another Filipino favorite. I did not like it at first, but I got used to eat it. It is unique and different.

"The McDonald's of the Philippines" is the MOST ACCURATE description. 😂 Jollibee is by no means a representation of authentic Filipino cuisine, but it is the exact representation of Filipino fast food just like McDonald's is of American fast food. And, in the Philippines, Jollibee and McDonald's are like horns-locked rams in competition with each other. 😆 We, Filipinos, love our fast food for sure!
