@dodolgarpet6 жыл бұрын
Smh, people should do some research before about the difference between autotune and reverb. The Koreans DID NOT used autotune on live performance, but they did put reverbs on the microphone. Reverbs don't fix bad technique, it didn't make-up your incorrect pitch, it's not masking your strains whatsoever, unlike autotune. Reverbs are only used to make you sound somewhat "larger" and has that kind of a ringing slightly echo-y quality. If you understand vocal pedagogy, you'll see that singers with bad technique still didn't sound good even with reverbs.

There's actually a big difference between korean singers and korean idols. In fact, when we talk about idols performances, groups, solos... Those who don't just sing, but dance and etc, they really tend to use auto-tune, or pre-recorded audios, because it's actually difficult to sing, dance, jump, look to the camera... That's why even koreans says that idols and korean singers are actually different. When it comes to competitions like Immortal Songs, King of Masked Singer... And American also use a lot auto tune and also does Lip sync during stages even your favorites American artist can Lip sync as well and I know I have heard Justin Bieber use auto tune doing performance on video release on KZbin . Plus BTS always sings 100 % live and Korean boy group. Also Exo has song called lotto it very heavy use of auto tune but when watch them perform it live it sounds way better then the recorded song and sing it live. I can see both countries have equally amazing singers. However a striking difference I noticed between the belts was that Americans prefer the usage of visibly dynamic and highly varying multi-compressions, while Koreans tend to hold on a single note with gradation during the entire stretch or more quick and less varying multi-compressions if they ever do so. Varying Multi-compressions are technically difficult to do when compared to holding on single kind of note. Yet this does not prove one's better than the other because ultimately one should be able to enjoy the music. It's only a matter of difference in technique. Indeed Loved both American and Korean singers.

Most of these Korean Singers were on either YHY SketchBook or Immortal Songs which are singing competitions where people go to prove their singing ability. They ARE NOT KPOP IDOLS and no the shows do not accept the use of auto-tune or any sort of mic modification as that results in immediate disqualification.

Some of these comments and the reaction to this video itself disappoint me. Korean singers work their asses of through years of training to have amazing vocals and yet they're being accused of auto tune or lip syncing. These singers are well known for their vocals and these shows are just like other American survival shows, talent shows or things like that. The vocals are all live. Plus, why accuse them of auto tune when we all know how many American singers use it. In no way am I saying these singer in the video are, they have amazing vocals themselves but don't go around saying these Korean singers do or that they don't try.

6.05 there wasn't any pitch correction or Smth like that . She so young as u can see. And her tone should be so rich and light. That G#5 was unsupported . She can't control that note. That's why it sounds so. Her larynx was so high. Just a bit and she will just scream that part. But she is truly insane. She has a great potential.

Umm tad bit biased.. these are actually renowned singers in Korea so they can sing extremely well. Additionally they only really use reverb in their live performances so its not modified or autotuned. I believe others have explained what that is so please don't keep jumping to conclusions. In Korea using autotuned for professional singers is frowned upon immensely and if they were found to have use modification or a utotune in a live show their careers would be over.

it seems a little unfair to compare and say that the Korean recordings are not reliable when you could say the same for the American recordings. In my opinion, kpop vocalists are some of the best, mainly because of the fact that they can't debut unless they've had sufficient training, especially SM groups. They have some of the best vocals because of the vocal coaches and the amount of years these guys train for to get their voices so clear. I gave up on this video half way through, just because y'all were saying the only way the kpop singers were good is because of 'modification on the mic', like no these people have beautiful voices and they've had so much training it really shows. The techniques and the notes are so clear in kpop singers because they've been taught for so many years, because they have to be before they can even think about debuting. Ugh I wish people wouldn't be so ignorant and appreciate these artists for the blessings they are

The past US divas were total powerhouse queens, they knew how to sing with everything they had, they had real passionate charisma & they took you to another world every time by their vocal colours. Even now I can play an old album from one of them and their notes would still give me chills. (Same with a lot of the past male singers. They had that spark ) Unfortunately though imo MOST (not all) of the popular singers in the US now I feel are a major downgrade. I don't dislike US singers (sincerely some stuff is nice) but overall I think a lot of Americans need to wake up (& admit) to the fact that over time the singers quality in their music industry has diluted down to mostly being kinda basic. If you look around at the vocals & skills of many singers from different countries of the world you might understand what I mean. Once you see & hear the variety it's addictive & music becomes an exciting journey of discovery. :)
