Sharon and Robert wrote this song 100% because of the Ukraine war. This whole album, "Bleed Out" is a protest of that war.

actually, no. This song is about a soldier who was fooled to believe that he is going to fight for a good cause, but at the end he realized he was screwed over and were heartbroken from it. the Bleed Out song is about the young woman from Iran Masha Amini who was brutally tortured and murdered because she wasn't wearing her hijab. Knowing this, the lyrics are very impactful and also the music video tells the story.

Not the whole album, there are only 4 out of 11 songs on Bleed Out that are inspired by the invasion of Ukraine. Some of the 4 songs like this one also have a broader anti-war message as shown in the video. The song that is without doubt 100% inspired by the invasion is their brand new single A Fools Parade featuring Ukrainian vocalist Alex Yarmak.

Great analysis and reaction. This and quite a lot of their other songs hit hard, vocalist Sharon den Adel has a knack for writing extremely deep meaningful lyrics that quite often take people by surprise. More Within Temptation reactions would be most welcome, they have so many amazing songs to choose from.

Been listening to Within Temptation for many years, but in finally going to see them live here in Norway later this year. So many of their songs have so much meaning to me. Nightwish is my go to music when i feeling down, but Within is a good number 2. Love all your reactions i have seen so far. Best regards from Norway.

Every minute comes new cripple either mentally or physically, often both in war between Ukraine and Russia. Both sides: war is impartial in that way. Within Temptation is on another level than this song shows, or honestly the late stuff. For me, they're like Mariah Carey legendary archive but ok present stuff.
