Excellent advice! I’ve had 5 GSD’s and just got my 6th who is my first 100% East German GSD. His father was German military and he is MORE dog on every level… more energy, more intensity, more aggressive, more territorial, more attached, more dominant…. Greatest Dog I’ve ever had but there’s no way I could have handled him without having experience with calmer GSD’s first. These dogs need a consistent, steady hand, clear boundaries and daily mental and physical exercise.They are definitely not for everyone!

My first GSD was a backyard bred mix of show lines and working lines. Gorgeous dog, always got compliments. Loved people. Easy to train, raise, etc…. With the exception of his numerous health problems…a perfect dog. I decided the 2nd GSD would be from a “champion” line breeder and since the 1st one was easy, I’ll step it up a notch and get a working line. My intention was to go thru Schutzhund with him. Just like yours was German military lines…mine (DDR/Czech) came from a line of border patrol dogs in the old Czechoslovakia - high drive, high energy, extremely territorial. That first year of owning/raising him…omg it was so hard that I almost returned him to the breeder several times. I tried to do the same training program as my previous GSD but he was too much dog for that program. Then Covid shutdown happened and I never got the chance to do Schutzhund with him. Anyway, he just turned 5. He’s very territorial around a 3-5 block radius of home. The amount of exercise I have to do with him to drain his energy is a lot. He challenges me more than my other one ever did. Even though he’s 20-25 pounds lighter than the previous one, he’s much stronger. Unlike my first one, he’s wary of strangers. Anyway, I can go on and on with the differences. My point is…if anyone is reading this and is deciding if they want a working line shepherd…if you’re a first time dog owner, don’t get one. Last thing our breed needs is more GSDs ending up in rescues because you can’t handle them. It takes an experienced GSD owner who has the time to train and drain its energy everyday. Or else you’re gonna have a very destructive dog. A bored intelligent dog is not a fun dog to own.

Retired firefighter who is a strong, smaller lady, but very fit. I had “hard” herding dogs my entire life. ALL working dogs are much more difficult and different than a “regular” dog. I have temperament tested dogs for many years. I have some aggressive herding dogs( GSDs are herding dogs) and yes, they will bite everyone who comes on my property. I live in a meth infested area. I have a business at my home. I have been robbed. I own a weapon. I don’t have family. I don’t have friends. I don’t socialize my dogs. I have trained dogs for veterans. You cannot food train these dogs. They work hand in hand with people for generations and you can’t train behaviors out of a dog that has been bred into them for generations. This was a great video. Yes, I am a bossy owner. I have never treat trained. Love my dogs. I am the boss.

I have an east German working line female with me currently. She's allot of dog to handle but has been great with my kids and family. After a relationship split I moved her into my parents house. One day two men tried to push their way into the house whilst I was at work and my mom was out shopping. My dad was in his seventies and had no way to protect himself against them. They pushed him backwards off the doorstep and luckily he was able to open the door to the living room where my dog went into protection mode naturally and probably saved his life..

There’s a difference between a dog stopping a bad buy and stopping a bad buy after he’s hurt someone. Dogs will naturally bite and protect if someone they love is physically hurt but what this video is talking about is that most dogs are NOT going to know to stop someone before they hurt their human unless they’re a dog that bites almost everyone.

This is priceless guidance. I rescued one that was of "companion" temperament and had been dumped at 10 months for not being as into bite work as he wanted. Mine is quite friendly and gentle when with other people, as long as I am not also there. I'm a calm type, which is lucky because escalating emotionally only would add fuel to the fire. I definitely had to radically reset my approach for his benefit. I wasn't lax, neglecting, or letting him run amok, instead I wasn't catching that he needed me to give him much more communication and more frequent check-ins. He had bounced around and finally found a loving home with hours of exercise,vtraining and healthy food, but I had to learn that while I speak both Human German and Dog Retriever, I had to learn Shepherdese too.

We rescued a six month GSD and as he has grown, he is definitely built more like a working line. Their look alone is a pretty good deterrent as is, you don't need to try to make them tough. You are so right in establishing that the dog is not the boss of the house. We have two other little 18# terrier mutts, and our oldest at 13 puts Asher in his place all the time. Consistency is key.

I have a male working line gds, and he is gentle with people for the most part. But he will mess someone up over my teenage girls. He’s a good boy and I love him. But I have sense enough to know what he is capable of as I’m sure you do. We are pretty laid back and I think he reads our stress level. And just like you said, they don’t have to be vicious because only a fool who needs his butt checked would walk up on him.

At almost 40 years old and wanting a dog my whole life and finally I decided to get one. A little back story: I spent years of day dreaming and hands off research in my mid 30's. When I decided that I was actually going to get a dog I settled on what breed and decided what I wanted was German Shepherd specifically a East or West German Shepherd working line. The power and intelligence combined with loyalty and beauty completely infatuated me. I spent two years several hours a week planning and preparing with research on training through videos & books prior to actually getting her. I had the fantastical idea in my head that with all the knowledge I had accumulated and training I had lived vicariously through watching others and learning many dog trainers techniques that my efforts wouldn't be too challenging. LMAO 🤣 Boy was I wrong.... I found a reputable breeder of East German Shepherds with good reviews met the Sire and the Dam they were wonderful and well trained animals with a documented proven lineage. I picked out a female, the only female sable in the litter. Brought her home at 8 weeks old. She threw up on my girlfriend in the car on the ride home 🤣 No amount of pre-planning will prepare you for the actual experience. She is so high energy it's amazing and insane at the same time. She absolutely needs constant attention. Every moment of my life that I am not working, commuting to or from work, or going to the bathroom has HAD to be dedicated to her training and giving her the attention she requires. She needs way more physical and mental exercise, boundaries and attention than I could have ever imagined. I have had some serious challenges and a ton of frustration, but I live alone and raised a son on my own who is now grown so I have had some similar frustrations in the past lol. I am also not the type to give up on what I have set my mind to doing. Owning one of these magnificent dogs is intense and you had better be prepared to put in the work and I mean a lot of work if you want to have your dog be well mannered. Good food, doctor visits, insurance, vitamins and toys are expensive so be prepared for that! After 8 months of sacrificing my time and giving as much attention as possible I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. She will be 1 year old on March 2nd 2023 and she is turning out to be a fine dog. We have a long way to go still and even though she and I have made a ton of progress, we have much more work to be done. It's getting easier but I know now that her training will take years if not continually until she grows into middle age. She and I are working on getting ready to take her AKC Canine Good Citizen test and I have lots of plans for future training as well. With that said, what a fine dog I have. In many ways she is growing into what I day dreamed. My companion and my mutual guardian. She is smart and strong, sweet and loving. She is protective yet cautious. She loves children and other dogs. She is beautiful. She wants to please (most of the time 🤣) and above all she LOVES/CRAVES to work! If you're a newbie and never had a dog before you had better expect to put in the time and work. As I said I'm new at this so take it for what it's worth to you, IMHO If there's anything I have learned about dog behavior, it's that the dog's behavior is a reflection of it's owners efforts and treatment. Congrats on seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! I have a Czech working line solid black and we have countless hours in training, not to mention the thousands of dollars invested. She is my world and is very strong willed. They are such good solid dogs when trained properly. I have a commute to and from work as well as a side job on Saturdays but my main focus is to get home to my girl! My youngest daughter purchased her first shepherd but is a mix of show and working lines. Great pup and can be intense but not like my girl. Both dogs passed the CGC test with flying colors and are both great with kids and mostly ignore other dogs. Now my girl is 7yrs old and no signs of slowing down. Good food, supplements, and regular health checks are a must and she is as healthy as they get. I agree wholeheartedly that owning these magnificent creatures is intense, rewarding, and creates a bond like one has never experienced. Great background and recommendations as folks usually have no idea the work and attention these pups need/crave!

As a female who has been attacked on a trail from behind, I lived in fear of leaving the house and missed 2 years of living life as I once did. I decided to get a big dog. I researched protective dog breeds and decided on a Male Working Line GSD. He was noticeably protective by 3 months old. I agree with you...the energy, wow, not just that, the intelligence level is unbelievable. At about 12 months of age, my boy saved me from a guy trying to jump from a rock down onto me. He didn't see I had a dog, the guy almost got me but my boy spun around and chased him away growling and that guy was running, lol. I work from home and am able to be with him almost 24/7. Lots of hiking, swimming, training daily. He is super affectionate, but also very protective which I have to keep in check. He allows me to have my life back on the trails and I feel very safe when he is by my side. All the best to you and your girl!

Short answer, YES!!! My working line (Sable GSD) is by far, THE greatest dog I’ve ever owned. He is identical to this dog just a little bigger. He is the smartest, scariest, but by far the funniest, goofiest dog I’ve ever known. He has never bitten anyone but has made it clear to everyone that he will protect our family. He is welcoming to EVERYONE who comes into our home and keeps our other two dogs in check.

I finally see someone who knows not just about German shepherds but in general the Alfa breeds or the working breeds. You have to let them know that you are in charge. I've had many cases of friends that have very dominant dogs and in not a professional trainer whatsoever but I grew up with a rottweiler and I had to learn how to handle him. And I was always the go to person for my fiends when their dogs were way to aggressive. And when they first saw how I was with them they always say I'm being too mean with them but in reality I was being assertive and confident. Once a dog sees you are a strong confident owner they will be more obedient. After a few months of training and working with them they had a changed dog but some go back to letting them be dominant again and well I've had tk adopt a few of them because of that.

Great video. I'm 62 and I bought a German shepherd from a K9 polican at our city. You have to get shutzhund training if you want a dog to bite and be trained to bite and it's hard to get a dog to bite protect you. I just wanted mine to bark and I have guns. Excellent video. I did give my dog good training for healing, sitting, stay, etc, and he knew I was in charge. It was hard work and I wasn't trying to teach him to bite, but since he was a working dog with Germs. pink papers and I had to exercise him all the time. He needed to be exercised and socialized. Great video.

We have a young female working line GS, very sharp, intelligent and gentle animal. Faster than a bolt of lightning. She would be perfect for protection training but that is not what we want or need (in this part of the world). What we do is search and rescue, tracking and collapsed building ruins search work. It seems to come naturally and she absolutely loves it . The first time we went for forest search training she found the 4 persons hiding there in 5 acre area in 4 minutes, and she was just 7 months old. She knew exactly what we wanted from her. We have had 2 show line GS, white Swiss shepherd and a belgian tervuren previously (also collie, papillons etc) , but this work line GS is on another level totally. We wanted a bitch, and the breeder would not give males to families anyway, they all to police and border guard. Keep up the good work.

I bought a working GSD four years ago after I retired. He has been a really great dog. Friendly with people, all kids, is fearless, does not go after people walking by my car. He is territorial, asset protective, food and toys, will guard food with me but I can go right in and take his food away, never snapped at anyone taking food from him. Does not roll over on his back for me, but loves a belly rub. I have not done any bite work with him and neutered him at 3 years. He does protect me, found that out in a road rage incident and bears at my summer home. He has the run of the house, does not claim furniture or a bed. He likes children not just my grandkids. Does not like dogs running at me, he will pin them. I asked police dog masters to approach my car with me to get him used to uniforms, no issues with that. I did a lot of socialization with him, training recall etc. He is very intuitive, only reacts to physical aggression directed at me, but not yelling he just gets close and watches, He will not bite if you get in my car, he will latch you up and hold on, you can't resist him or he grips harder, you can leave him in the car, door open he waits there till I get back. He even retrieves grouse for his ball, loves hunting does not react to very loud noises. Great dogs! Your advice on this breed is bang on, mine does test me routinely, training is ongoing daily.

something that is a huge pet peeve of mine is when people get a dog and claim it's protecting their home when really the dog is just untrained and insecure and frankly dangerous because of his unstable behavior. people need to realize that if you want a protection dog you have to go through the hours and money of training in order for your dog to be a reliable PPD.

Cole Ackley, Absolutely false. I am on my 6th German Shepherd and were all show line and just had obedience training. All great watch dogs with huge amounts of energy, very smart and also very protective. I was out walking one of my German Shepherds one night when some idiot come up from behind me. What that dog did to him. the man was screaming call him off, call him off. It's a natural instinct for that breed to protect.

Great advice! One officer on our community was side breeding his working K9. Selling the puppies. My neighbor got one. They showed me and told me where it came from. They know I train my personal dogs GSD’s. I looked at them and I told them they got the wrong dog. They keep him in a kennel and the house rarely take him for proper exercise. I offered to help but nope… he is unhinged around other dogs but ok with people. Thank goodness he likes me and doesn’t react to my dog. That officer should never have another K9. I should have reported him but his k9 died of cancer at 2.

My daughter researched for months before begging both myself n husband ddr make so I wasn't in it but since Dad said yes. We went on this journey .wasn't found of it cause we live in an apartment .we missed the first round of male puppies so we waited a year and we were on a list but not enough males were born ,so she could have waited but she couldn't and chose a female puppy which I was so relieved and happy about .I have trained my own boxer puppies and I have adopted so called problem boxers throughout my life and trained them .but I kinda new this might be next level .but I have to say our female Shepard is amazing ,she is so smart. like its so strange how smart she can be .she stays with my girls if someone comes to my door she sticks her head through there legs n watches. We never taught her this. Outside she doesn't let strangers near them like if they try to come up on them especially at night she stands on her back legs n low growls .until they walk in opposite direction n she's on all fours again .I live in south Florida and it's very bad crime down here .this dog is just awesome in the house and outside she doesn't lunge at people either she just stands her ground .I love love my girl 💓 lol daughters dog. Ok mine too .also she doesn't have accidents in the house seriously if she's sick and has the runs she goes to the door n jumps on it once n she waits to be leashed up n out she goes. She holds it .I can't wait to move into a home back up north I want another.

coming back to this video again, my working line gsd came from a home where she was attacked by her mother on at least two occasions she is nothing like this dog, she is extremely fearful, insecure and soft, doesn't have a mean bone in her entire body when it comes to her inner circle but is reactive to strangers and despises other dogs, I inherited a very shitty situation and I am currently working with my trainer to bring out the best in this dog

I grew up with Eastern German Sheppards (worklines) since I was a kid. SOCIALISATION is very important. That starts as a puppy. Make no mistake they need mental and physical challenges. Hiking, playing...Love... Training and patience... Since it's a workline, they are very eager to learn. At a very young age, you start with basic training. Put the food on the ground, and he/she has to wait till you give the command or sign to start eating. Playful learn to groom and check his/her teeth/body. Go hiking... Calm energy. No yelling. Reward positive behavior (praise, cuddle...) Correct or ignore bad/unwanted behavior. We did not do guard/attack training... On the contrary, people came all the time over (Socialisation). Other dogs, traffic, public transport... We never locked up any of our dogs into a cage. We never had any issues with our dogs. More experienced training, later on. Our dogs were unbelievably loyal, stable, and disciplined. I have 2 Eastern Germans Sheppards (workline) of my own since they were 8 weeks old. I raised them well. They see me as their parent and leader. I do not need a leash. Sarah stays on my left side and Kenzo on my right side. Both have been socialized since puppy. Never any issue. They love people and other dogs. Are not dominant at all. SOCIALISATION is key. Sorry, man, you do not understand this beautiful breed at all. That's probably because your dogs were not properly socialized. I also know people who only use their GSD as a guard dog and no or bad Socialisation. No hiking... I take my dogs on trips, on holiday...

After a decade plus in the Army and LE with working dogs, I've seen more friendly fire bites than intended bites. IME, these dogs are amazing at chasing down and stopping fleeing bad guys. But the notion of getting a legit protection dog as a "family guardian" is flawed for the reasons mentioned in the video. A dog that will naturally engage home intruders will also bite everyone that visits and be a massive liability. Or the dog will bite no one and provide no real protection other than early warning barks. If you don't enjoy the process of dog protection training, I strongly advise against getting a protection dog. That said, dog protection training is fun as hell.

@@wanderingdrifter3163 I've handled and trained with hundreds of GSD. I do find GSD to be the most intelligent out of the working dogs I deal with (Labs, Pointers, Mal/Dutch, herderX, etc.). That said, I personally do not care for GSD. I don't recommend them in most working roles outside of some private security or PPDs. Especially for scent detection. Athleticism and work commitment are subpar. Almost a guarantee the first dog to cheat in training will be a GSD.

@Jessica You don't have to believe me. You are the one using anecdotal experience with an irrelevantly small sample compared to what SMEs on the topic experienced. Michael Ellis, Ivan Balabanov, Haz Othman, Richard Heinz, etc. Lots of YT content out there explaining why you are wrong. They'll all say the same thing. Very few dogs will engage without training. And those same dogs with quality training will be far superior in an engagement.

At this point, I´m just going to get a Chihuahua from a good breeder and call it a day. I get scared of the breed every time you make a video about it, but it´s good to know the worst that it could happen and how serious is to get one of those breeds, like Cane Corso or Malinois.

Yep. My working line GSD (Grandfather was World Champion in Nuremberg Germany 2010, Ober von Bad Boll) is a badass. Luckily I am a single adult senior, so not so much an issue- when someone new comes in the house with me, he just really intimidates them the first 15 minutes or so, if they ignore him he just goes on about his business after that. But anyone comes to the fence, or the door- he makes it very plain that he will kill them and violate their cooling corpse then eat them...

I have a 4 yr. old 92 lb. working line GS that looks exactly like the one in the video except a little longer fur. He is very people friendly and very affectionate. Mine does have that make me attitude when you tell him to do something he doesn't want to do. He does mouth when he doesn't want to be touched. This makes it hard to give him treatments. He throws fits by scratching the ground and barking at it at the same time. He mostly does that when my grown son comes home after not seeing him for a few days. My daughter-in-law has a very dominant Yorkie who does bark at visitors and tries to attack their ankles and she has to be crated. Since I've been living with my son my dog is now starting to bark at visitors when they first come in. He is learning this from the Yorkie. She also viciously attacks him in the face for various reasons. The good thing is that he doesn't react when she does that. I don't know if she is dominating him or if he just sees her as being little and not a threat or maybe because we are always scolding him to leave her along. He has a very different reaction with a bigger dog that lives next door or any dog that challenges him. He also accidently bit me when he was fence fighting with the dog because he managed to grab its cheek through the chain link fence, I panicked and was smacking him in the face to let go and he did for a second and tried going for him again and accidently got my hand. He's had 4 trainers and am still looking for once since I moved to Arizona a few months ago. I want to stop the fence fighting and the anxiety and stress he exhibits when my son comes home. He's okay after a day of him being home. We don't know that triggers this behavior.

I have had both types of German Shepherd and they are totally different personalities. The American line is somewhat smaller and have less drive. Working line is a higher prey drive and you had to stay on top of everything. If you don't give them a job, they will make themselves a job...generally one you don't like.

i have a European gsd named leroy, was unsocialized with people and dogs at 4 months old never left his puppy pen. he started out nervous around any new thing like cars / people / bikes / dogs. nervous means he pulls away and cowers a bit instead of barking. once he became confident around cars / people via our walks on leash he started to get excitable when people would look at him he would start to bark wanting to go say hi.. this is not okay and can look very intimidatign to a child or elderly person.. i make him sit while they walked past then a simple ok to release him back to our walk, this allows him to realise that they meant no harm overtime as no ones ever aproached with out asking. IF and WHEN my boy Leroy ever growl / barks at someone that does not deserve to be kept at a distance i tell him to Leave it in a calm but stern tone, and if he doesnt i follow through with a correction with his prong collar, this works. as of spring this year, he walks beside me in a heel position (as good as a 8 month old is expected) - sits with leash pressure, goes down ANYWHERE ANYTIME via a hand signal and or a verbal Down. i place him in a down if there is a dog off leash and let them walk past before releasing leroy back to our walk, its fine if others want their dog to let loose, this isnt the time or place for my boy to be learning to ignore my commands off leash. disclaimer : i work with exotic animals as a trainer im not a certified dog trainer (yet) i have only got certificates in dog behavior and group management in a daycare setting, which is where my dog gets to "be a dog" and unwind with his friends in a SAFE controlled environment. i personally dont trust every one who owns a dog to be a dog handler, nor have the confidence to buck up if shit hits the fan which is why id rather have a Disciplined dog over a motivated dog.

I'm on my second working line gsd. She is great with everyone and everything... except squirrels. Lol. We train twice a day for 30 minutes each session. No bite work. She is nice to everybody. I don't think she'd attack a robber.

German shepherds need constant mental stimulation. Either chews, playing tug, training, food puzzles, fetch, herding commands(come by, away to me), et cetera. Our GSD naps for about two hours a day, sleeps at night, and the rest is spent doing a daily walk and all the above mentioned activities. Ours was a rescue and holy cow I was not prepared for him but we figured it out after a month 😅.

My dad has a working line GSD x Malinois mix. He's definitely high af drive, but is generally a good boy. He had another one too but sorrowfully that dog didn't get along with our other dogs so he's been rehomed. His new owner is not a sporty guy at all but the dog still adores him and they get along very well. I don't doubt that there are some too-hyper-for-hobbyist GSDs as well.

I Got WLGSD 2017, since Puppy, socializing is the key, since puppy, and let him know everything it was and still is trough me, and me only, food, play, sleep, bathroom. It is Better to get a rough start with a puppy and let him you are the boss. Now, Drago has 6 Yo, and is the al love Dog at home, nice with visitors, but aware with strangers. ALWAYS has to be supervised if he is outside the Kennel. If he works everyday, fisicaly and mentally , it will be fine. My whole family enjoys his presence and feels secure with him. Even relatives that come often home-.

Thank you for your videos. I particularly love the one about the Malinois talking about how so many of them use for military and police have Dutch in them (a given), but also a touch of pit and working line German Shepherd. I have gotten into debates with people on this platform over this subject with former military people insisting that military mals are pure Malinois. When I told him I had a breeder friend of Malinois here in California that even admit that in Europe they do this, he called my friend a backyard breeder. How come these people are so ignorant? Malinois do not have big cheeks and massive heads? nor do Dutch Shepherds. There are many major breeders breeding bicolor Malinois. Isn't that a dead giveaway that they are mixed? It's not an insult. If it improves the performance of the dog then I think there's no problem with it but people get up in arms about we talkin about it

For a variety of reasons, KNPV is having a decreasing influence on protection work. It's a dying sport in Europe, alternative options are more cost effective, KNPV dogs can be excessive drive even for LE, demand is too high to be met solely from KNPV, etc. FCI lines, particularly in EE, are producing an increasing volume of protection dogs than ever before. There you can find more pure Mal/Dutchie.

When I grew up my parents always had medium or large sized dogs, so I love big breeds and energetic dogs. I think my 11 weeks Germany shepherd got some genes of both western and eastern working line and malinois. When I saw this puppy and his siblings, I noticed that he looked more like an eastern working line and malinois than other puppies, so I selected him because I always want a high drive dog. I am learning the ways to make him a friendly dog.

My jack Russell protected the house from a break in simply because he sounded absolutely insane when he barked as someone tried coming in the back door. I had two other break in attempts where my dogs barking got them to leave. None of those dogs bit or was aggressive. You don’t need some aggro dog for protection, this is right, a family dog is better

Most people don't need a "killing machine" to protect their property. One of my dogs was a bundle of muscle, 52kg Athletic-type American Bulldog - gentle, placid. Vets said when he died they wanted to do a necropsy (an autopsy); my dog was peak physical fitness. Dad said to me "I don't care where you go. I don't care what time you go out. No-one is coming near you with a dog like that". Walking my dog along the boardwalk Park Rangers told me I'm not supposed to go around scaring people. I said, "He's on a leash, well-behaved, under control." One day someone tried to steal my car - they didn't see my dog on the back seat. I've never seen anyone move so quickly. I never saw any aggression in the dog. Intimidating definitely. If you're going to have problems with an American Bulldog, it's usually the Johnston, and usually a female. When the dog arrived (as puppy) Dad asked when are going to start training, to which I replied "Now, he's working us out. We'll work him out."

I got a female working like gsd at 13 trained it all by myself it attacks on command and whenever anyone approaches me friendly or not she has to smell them first Before they approach me or she will attack instantly and she’s not a human aggressive dog she’s a human friendly dog she’s just protective but she is animal aggressive

I’ve been considering getting a working-line German Shepherd puppy. I grew up with show-line German Shepherds and some of my fondest memories are with these dogs. Right on the head- Strong personality Even if this dog is the sweetest, most humble, obedient creatures, you're not doing it any favors by stowing it as a pet. The DNA in this animal is thoroughbred. It will rot if you can't provide it with an adequate regiment, which a shame on another level If you are a layabout outside of work, fuggetaboutit. You don't buy a gun and keep it on top of the dresser collecting lint. That weapon needs to be a part of your code, your family needs to understand that you own and operate a gun, standing behind you. You need consistent refinement on the firing range. Clean after every use and invest in high quality casings that you can then access efficiently in the dead of night And thats the orientation of this breed. In a certain respect you aren't just getting a dog, but an employee. That's how our ancestors handled them, hunting assets

My working shepherd was amazing in every way i could possibly imagine. He was full protection. He was easier than my min poodles bitches ! 😂 God I miss him. I’m looking for another dog. They are natural protectors, socialising is key plus exposing him to as much as possible. Love this breed ❤

Malinois still much more energy. Working line shepherds just can be very dominant and naturally aggressive. Yes they can be a little more energetic but nothing outrageous.
