I LOVE this! I am a local stagehand and have been a dresser for the Wicked tour three times - two of those times as a stitcher. My favorite part of being a dresser/stitcher is seeing the details of the costumes, and the crazier the costumes the more interesting they are! Madame Moribal's costumes are amazing. She has a dress that has to have sleeves and collars switched out; VERY clever! Galinda's bubble dress is in constant need of repairs - I was told the first time I did the show in 2011 that someone could make a career out of repairing that dress. We didn't even need to check for repairs after the show; it was automatically brought down and whenever we stitchers got caught up with other repairs, we would go to the bubble dress and replace beads while we waited for another repair to be brought to us. When I did the show in 2020, a new hat for the cigarette lady in Emerald City was delivered. The wardrobe supervisor and assistants were so disappointed because it was not at all like the old one and the look was not nearly as eye-catching as the original. And they KNEW the actress was going to be so disappointed. I don't think she wore it at all in my city. It is so interesting to see how the costumes were created. Thank you for doing this!
