A range is a stove top, which often comes with an oven in the US. Something probably got lost in translation where they meant to use レンジ to mean the oven part of it. I believe the British say air con to mean "air conditioner" as well. In the US, "AC" is often used to refer to the air conditioner.
ニューオリンズ在住です。古い建物が多くて、今でも窓にはめ込むWindow Unitがある家とかアパートがいっぱいあるので、エアコンはA/Cといいます😁が、冷やすほうだけを指す言葉なのでMy apartment has only an window unit AC with no heater のようにいいます。クーラーは言いませんね
