Little after I pour my lye, the mixture becomes a little thick and just a minute after it has to go into the molds with the help of a spoon. How do you do that it remains liquid enough allowing you the addition of colours and the application of different shapes?
@OpheliasSoapery3 жыл бұрын
Hi there!! There are a lot of factors for keeping your batter fluid. What temperature are you soaping at? Room temperature will help with keeping it fluid. What water percentage are you using? The more water you use the more fluid it will stay. I do use a water discount 1.8:1 water/lye ratio. When adding colors try to hand mix them in with a whisk and add your fragrance oil last. If you’re using fragrance oils make sure they do not accelerate trace. Most fragrance oil manufacturers will list if they will make your batter thick fast :) And lastly. Sometimes people over stick blend which can cause the batter to thicken up. I blend until I reach a very very light trace :)
@pirugosi3 жыл бұрын
@@OpheliasSoapery Many thanks for replying. I will take into consideration every piece of advice. The water content I use is definitely much less than yours. Many thanks
